Sheriff: Wauwatosa man struck by semi, killed on I-94 near Moorland

BROOKFIELD -- A Wauwatosa man, 31, was killed when he was struck by a semi on I-94, east of Barker Road in the Town of Brookfield Sunday morning, Feb. 16.It happened just before 6:30 a.m.Sheriff's officials said the semi was driven by a 52-year-old man and was headed westbound.

Police investigate 'suspicious smell' coming from building in downtown Waukesha

WAUKESHA -- A Waukesha apartment building was evacuated Monday afternoon, Feb. 10 due to a "suspicious smell."Waukesha police said an investigation involving the Wisconsin Department of Justice's Division of Criminal Investigation’s Clandestine Laboratory Response Team determined that there was no ongoing risk to the safety of residents -- and everyone was able to return to their homes in the building on Main Street near Wisconsin Avenue by 7:30 p.m.Investigators responded around 2:30 p.m. and located the smell coming from a room on the third floor.

Prosecutors: At least 4 videos found on phone of Swimtastic employee who set up hidden camera

WAUKESHA -- Charges were filed Monday, Feb. 10 against a West Allis man accused of setting up a hidden camera inside Swimtastic in Waukesha.Jacob Masbruch, 21, faces five felonies -- three counts of capture an intimate representation without consent (victim under age 18), and two counts of capture an intimate representation without consent.According to a criminal complaint, on Feb. 5, police responded to Swimtastic on Tesch Court in Waukesha, where a 17-year-old female employee reported she noticed a Kleenex box with a small hole in it in a changing room after a swim lesson.

Police investigating hidden locker room camera at Waukesha swim school

WAUKESHA -- A hidden camera was found in the employee locker room of Waukesha swim school, police say.According to a statement from the Waukesha Police Department, a 17-year-old swim instructor at Swimtastic found the camera and the business owner called police around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 5.The instructor, who police say is a victim in the investigation, reportedly had changed out of her swimsuit when she noticed a hole in a box of tissues on a shelf.

Speeds over 100 mph: Pursuit ends on I-94 EB near Moorland in Brookfield

WAUKESHA COUNTY -- A high-speed pursuit came to end on eastbound I-94 near Moorland Road in Brookfield, Sunday morning, Feb. 2.Officials with the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department confirmed the pursuit reached speeds over 100 miles per hour.It wasn't immediately clear what prompted the pursuit -- or whether there were any injuries or arrests at the scene.

Menomonee Falls police seek man who stole cigarettes from Kwik Trip

MENOMONEE FALLS -- Menomonee Falls police on Sunday, Jan. 26 asked for the public's help identifying a man who stole cigarettes from Kwik Trip on Silver Spring Drive near Lilly Road on Saturday.The theft happened shortly before 11 a.m.Police said the man, who was wearing an Acme Packers knit cap, and a blue Yale jacket, distracted and employee, and then concealed packages of Newport cigarettes in his pocket.
