ARRESTED: 50-year-old Delafield man jailed for his fifth OWI after traffic stop in Waukesha County

WAUKESHA COUNTY (WITI) -- The Wisconsin State Patrol on Saturday night, February 28th arrested a 50-year-old Delafield man for his fifth OWI.The man was arrested just before 11:00 p.m. after he was stopped for lane deviation and no tail lamps on State Highway 83 NB at U.S. 18 in Waukesha County.Upon making contact with the driver, the trooper detected an odor of intoxicants.

WAUKESHA (WITI) -- Waukesha Police Department are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at an Associated Bank at 100 E Sunset Drive.According to police, two men entered the bank around 10:28 a.m. on Friday, February 20th.One of the men displayed a handgun, then jumped the counter and took an undisclosed amount of money before both men fled southbound on foot towards Big Bend Road.No shots were fired and no one was injured.It is unknown if a vehicle was involved.One of the suspects is described as a male, black, 5'11"-6'00", slender build, estimated 35 to 40 years old.

INDICTED: Grand jury returns 15-count indictment against former owners of Brookfield title, closing company

BROOKFIELD (WITI) -- United States Attorney James Santelle announced that on February 18th, a grand jury sitting in the Eastern District of Wisconsin returned a 15-count indictment against the former owners of New Horizon, LLC, a title and closing company that operated in Brookfield from 2006 to 2011.The indictment charges 43-year-old Timothy Kugler of West Bend, 41-year-old Lisa Verken (formerly Lisa Kugler) of West Bend, and 46-year-old Michelle Hayes of Wauwatosa.Each person is charged with participating in a bank fraud conspiracy, and with multiple counts of bank fraud, and false tax returns.The indictment alleges that Kugler, Verken, and Hayes executed their fraud scheme by diverting more than $1.8 million of lender funds from the New Horizon escrow account into a separate account from which they issued checks to themselves and to each other.

Neighbor alerts sleeping family to fire in Town of Vernon; Two adults, five children able to escape

TOWN OF VERNON (WITI) -- Several departments were called out to a fire in the Town of Vernon in Waukesha County on Thursday morning, February 19th.It happened just after 6:00 a.m. at a home on Center Drive.Assistance was required from the following departments: Village of Big Bend, Town of Waukesha, City of Waukesha, City of New Berlin, Mukwonago, Eagle, Wales-Genesee, Tess Corners, Wind Lake, Tichigan, Town of Brookfield, and City of Greenfield.Waukesha County Sheriff's officials say a neighbor observed the fire and alerted the family, asleep inside the home.Two adults and five children were able to escape the fire.

Search for suspect: Culver's employee robbed in parking lot of Sussex restaurant

SUSSEX (WITI) -- The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department is searching for a suspect who committed a strong arm robbery at the Culver's Restaurant in the Village of Sussex on Wednesday, February 18th.The robbery happened around 8:15 p.m. The victim is a Culver’s employee who was at his vehicle which was in the parking lot.

NEW BERLIN (WITI) -- A New Berlin police officer will be honored for his actions following a pursuit that ended in a crash back in December 2014.The pursuit occurred on December 29th, and ended in a crash on Greenfield Avenue at Elm Grove Road.New Berlin Police Officer Josh Ledzian attempted to stop the van for reckless driving, but the driver decided to flee instead.

Three people, including suspect taken to the hospital following stabbing incident in Waukesha

WAUKESHA (WITI) -- Waukesha police say three people, including the suspect were injured in a stabbing incident that occurred on Wednesday afternoon, February 11th.It happened in the 100 block of South Street shortly before 4:00 p.m.Police say three adult acquaintances were engaged in an altercation that resulted in an adult female stabbing and cutting two victims -- an adult male and an adult female.Those injured sustained non life-threatening injuries.We're told the suspect in this incident has been taken into custody.The investigation is ongoing.

Three squad cars damaged, two in custody following pursuit that ended in Germantown

MENOMONEE FALLS (WITI) -- Waukesha County Sheriff's officials say three squad cars were damaged during a pursuit as law enforcement officials looked to arrest an individual wanted on a felony warrant for theft and eluding officers Wednesday afternoon, February 11th.The State Patrol requested Waukesha County Sheriff's officials pick up the individual on the warrant.
