MENOMONEE FALLS -- Police in Menomonee Falls on Tuesday night, May 19 asked for help identifying three people who were among four involved in a February theft from Woodman's on Highway 145.The crime happened just after 10 a.m. on Feb. 15.Police said the four people worked together -- pushing two carts filled with $886.30 worth of merchandise out of the store without paying.When confronted by Woodman's employees, police said they fled on foot -- abandoning the stolen merchandise.

Sheriff: 34-year-old motorcyclist struck, killed in Waukesha County crash

VERNON -- The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department responded to a fatal crash in the Town of Vernon on Thursday afternoon, May 7.The crash happened just after 1 p.m. From the initial investigation, authorities say a car attempting to turn from eastbound National Avenue onto Hillview Drive struck a motorcyclist who was headed westbound on National Avenue.The motorcyclist, a 34-year-old Milwaukee man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

EAGLE -- A device believed to be a makeshift alarm system prompted a police response on East Main Street in the Village of Eagle Tuesday, May 5.Police responded to a home in the area around 12:30 p.m. -- with help from the Milwaukee Police Department's Hazardous Devices Unit, the FBI, ATF, the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department and other law enforcement and fire departments.The public was asked to avoid the area during the investigation.Following an inspection of the device by hazardous devices personnel, police revealed that, "Although unusual in nature, officials believe that the device was a makeshift alarm system.
