MFD responds to fire on Summerfest grounds

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Fire Department responded to a golf cart that was on fire at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater (previously the Marcus Amphitheater) on the Summerfest grounds Friday afternoon, June 16th.The fire department was called to  the scene shortly after 1:30 p.m.According to a statement from Summerfest officials, crews responded promptly and all security procedures were followed.

Officials: Fire at home on Milwaukee's south side displaces 12 people

MILWAUKEE -- Twelve people were displaced by a fire in a two-family building on Milwaukee's south side early Sunday, June 11th.The Milwaukee Fire Department was called to the home at 13th and Harrison around 1:00 a.m.Officials say the fire caused damage to the structure only -- nobody was hurt.The cause of the fire is being ruled as accidental.The Red Cross was on the scene to assist those who needed help.

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee Fire Department on Thursday afternoon responded to the area near 73rd and Florist — where they discovered a body in a field Thursday afternoon, June 8th.Officials were called to the scene around 2:15 p.m.Police said witnesses discovered the victim, and they’re now working to identify that person and determine a cause of death.

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police say a 30-year-old man turned himself in after a fatal fire Saturday night, June 3rd near Palmer and Concordia.Police say 35-year-old Shakira Hicks was killed in this homicide, which happened around 10:30 p.m.Hicks was pronounced dead at the scene.The investigation is ongoing.

5 people, including 2 children, displaced after house fire in Milwaukee

Veterans say they're being downgraded in hiring process for police, fire jobs in Milwaukee
