Faculty at UW-Milwaukee votes "no confidence" in UW System

MILWAUKEE -- The faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Tuesday, May 10th unanimously voted "no confidence" in UW System President Ray Cross and the UW Board of Regents -- just over one week after faculty at UW-Madison overwhelmingly supported a "no-confidence" vote (on May 2nd).

Baltimore School Board unanimously votes to replace Gregory Thornton, former MPS superintendent

BALTIMORE/MILWAUKEE -- Former Milwaukee Public Schools Superintendent Gregory Thornton is stepping down from his latest job as head of Baltimore Schools.Thornton was there for less than two years.The Baltimore School Board unanimously voted to replace him.Board members said it was a personnel matter, and that Thornton did a good job.The move reportedly has been in the works since December.

Police investigate burglaries at two Milwaukee Public Schools

MILWAUKEE -- Police are investigating burglaries at two Milwaukee Public Schools.One incident happened Sunday, May 1st at Engleburg Elementary School near 91st and Hampton.The other incident happened on April 16th at Lancaster School near 76th and Hampton.Police say the suspects entered the schools, forced entry to several classrooms and stole items from the school, including laptops.No suspects are in custody.

Marquette University: New $96 million residence hall development to be built on campus

UW-Madison Faculty Senate say no confidence in leaders

MADISON — Faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Madison have overwhelmingly supported a no-confidence vote in UW System President Ray Cross and the UW Board of Regents.Monday's voice vote came in the university's Faculty Senate, which has 220 senators representing more than 2,200 staff members.
