56-year-old man injured after being struck by train in Waukesha

WAUKESHA (WITI) -- A 56-year-old man was injured Tuesday evening, July 23rd when he was struck by a train in Waukesha.It happened in the 400 block of Arcadian Avenue.A spokesperson for the Canadian National Railway told FOX6 News one of the company's northbound trains struck a person just after 5:00 p.m. near Arcadian and Hartwell Ave.The pedestrian was taken to Froedtert Hospital via Flight for Life.He is said to be in stable condition, and under medical evaluation.

Man suffers medical emergency, dies on trail in Waukesha

Waukesha man charged with sexual assault of a child due in court

WAUKESHA (WITI) — 34-year-old David Trejo Miguel, the Waukesha man facing multiple charges for allegedly sexually assaulting a child, is due in court Tuesday, July 9thMiguel is charged with the following: Repeated sexual assault of a child, sexual assault of a child under 16 years of age, and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a child.The criminal complaint against Trejo Miguel indicates on Saturday, March 23rd,  police were called to the defendant’s home because the parents of one of three teenage girls who had been at the home were concerned for the well-being of another one of the girls.The complaint says Trejo Miguel “admitted he did provide a twelve-pack of hard lemonade to the girls and also provided them with marijuana to smoke.

Waukesha County Sheriff's officials search for suspect

WAUKESHA (WITI) -- Waukesha County Sheriff's officials on Sunday, June 23rd were searching for a suspect in the woods in the area of Balmer Park -- located near Lyndsay Road and Woods Edge Drive in the city of Pewaukee.Officials say they received a tip advising that a suspect involved in an ongoing investigation was camping in the woods.The Tactical Enforcement Unit was called out to complete a search of the area.The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department was assisted in the search by several other municipalities including; City of Waukesha Police Department, City of Brookfield Police Department, Village of Hartland Police Department, Village of Menomonee Falls Police Department and Village of Pewaukee Police Department as well the Pewaukee Fire Department.A reverse 911 call was made to the residents in that area at approximately 1:50 p.m. advising them that we were looking for a possible suspect and to call 911 if they saw anything suspicious.A search of the entire area was completed with no one located at this time.After the search, the residents were notified that the area was cleared and they could resume normal activities.It is unknown if this tip was valid or not, however all necessary precautions were taken to insure the safety of that community.The tip received is still under investigation at this time.

Neighbors upset over plan for Brookfield quarry

BROOKFIELD (WITI) -- People in the city of Brookfield got a closer look Wednesday night, June 19th at a plan to fill a former quarry with waste from highway construction projects.The area in question is about 85 acres south of Burleigh and east of Lilly Road.Currently, the old quarry is filled with water, and the area is undeveloped.Clean fill from places like the Zoo Interchange Project would fill the area.Once that's done, the area could be developed into housing units.Brookfield's mayor says there's a lot to consider before it's all approved -- and neighbors don't want it."The numbers have been run that we're going to have a truck every four minutes six days a week 12 hours a day bringing a substantial amount of landfill," Brookfield resident Jack Berlinski said."It's not a done deal.

Man faces charges, accused of encouraging sex with goats

WAUKESHA (WITI) -- A 41-year-old Waukesha man faces charges in connection with an incident during which he is accused of acting disorderly inside a Waukesha restaurant -- allegedly questioning patrons about their feelings on having sexual relations with goats.41-year-old Shaun Orris of Waukesha faces one count of carrying a concealed weapon and one count of disorderly conduct.A criminal complaint in the case says officers were dispatched to the Montecito restaurant on West Broadway for a report of a possible disorderly person.The complaint says there, officials located Orris, whom the restaurant's owner said had been drinking in the bar that night.The complaint says the restaurant's owner told officials Orris was asking other patrons whether they believed it was their Constitutional right to have sexual relations with a goat.Based upon these questions and other unusual statements from Orris, the restaurant's owner told officials he asked Orris to leave the bar -- according to the complaint.

Man struck by bus after attempting to retrieve turtle from roadway

WAUKESHA (WITI) -- Waukesha County Sheriff's officials say a 70-year-old Eagle man was struck by a school bus, while in the roadway trying to remove a turtle.The man was taken to the hospital, but is expected to be okay.It happened on Highway 59, just west of Antique Lane in the Town of Eagle.Sheriff's officials say the man pulled his car onto the shoulder of the road, exited his vehicle and walked into the roadway to attempt to remove a turtle in the road.A 49-year-old bus driver slowed down when he saw the man cross the road, but as he returned to his vehicle, he did not see the bus and stepped out in front of it -- according to officials.
