Mount Pleasant police seek suspect after attempted carjacking at Speedway gas station

MOUNT PLEASANT -- Mount Pleasant police are seeking a suspect after an attempted carjacking at the Speedway gas station on Washington Avenue on Thursday morning, October 22nd.It happened around 3:30 a.m.Police say the victim reported he had purchased items from inside the store and as he was placing the items inside his vehicle, the suspect approached him from the side of the building while displaying a pistol.The suspect then threatened to shoot the victim and demanded the victim get into the vehicle with him and drive.When the victim refused, the suspect fled south through yards on foot.The victim described the suspect as being a younger male black, approximately 5’10” tall with a thin build -- wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans.A police K-9 officer was used to search the area for the suspect, but the suspect was not located.There were no injuries suffered during this incident.

Animal neglect investigation: Caledonia police say 24 animals surrendered as search warrant executed

CALEDONIA -- Caledonia police say dozens of animals were surrendered to authorities after a search warrant was executed as part of an animal neglect investigation.The search warrant was executed on Friday, October 16th at a home on Highway 38 in Caledonia.Wisconsin Humane Society officials assisted Caledonia police at the scene, as did the Namaste Equine Rescue organization.A total of 24 animals, including birds, small animals and cats were surrendered to authorities.The incident remains under investigation.Police say charges could be forwarded to the Racine County District Attorney's Office in the coming days.Monitor FOX6 News and FOX6Now.com for updates on this developing story.
