KENOSHA COUNTY -- Officials with the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department say 17 people were arrested Thursday, May 19th and Friday, May 20th as search warrants were executed in connection with "Operation Smackdown."Six search warrants and 15 arrest warrants were served over the two-day period in Kenosha County.17 out of 25 wanted individuals were located and taken to the Kenosha County Jail.The following was seized during the two-day roundup:

KENOSHA COUNTY -- Officials with the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department say a 21-year-old Bristol woman was killed in a crash that happened early on Sunday morning, May 8th.It happened on Fox River Road near 101st Street (near the Wilmot Raceway) around 3:30 a.m. -- and involved a single vehicle.An investigation revealed 21-year-old Alyssa Lass of Bristol lost control of her vehicle, which left the roadway and struck a tree.Lass, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Man taken into custody on charges of delivery of heroin after search warrant served in Somers
KENOSHA COUNTY -- Officials with the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department say a man was arrested when a search warrant was executed at a home on 6th Street in Somers on three counts of delivery of heroin.The "no knock" search warrant was executed at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 4th.Kenosha County Sheriff's deputies and "Kenosha Drug Operations Group" officials took the man into custody without incident.Officials searched the home and discovered contraband associated with heroin, pills, unidentified powder, firearms and money.The man has not yet been officially charged.

KENOSHA COUNTY -- Officials with the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department tell FOX6 News a 50-year-old Illinois man was killed on Friday night, April 22nd when his truck went into a pond.The crash involving just one vehicle happened around 6:00 p.m. on County Highway W/Fox River Road in Kenosha County.Sheriff's officials say the driver of a Ford F-250 truck, being driven by Arthur Kraft of Spring Grove, Illinois was headed south on Fox River Road when he failed to negotiate a curve in front of the American Girl Brands business on Fox River Road.The truck then entered a pond after it rolled over -- coming to rest upside down in the pond.Officials say passersby worked to extricate Kraft from the truck, who was unresponsive after the crash.

KENOSHA -- Kenosha police say a 38-year-old man is being held in jail, accused of stabbing another man on Saturday, April 2nd.The stabbing happened around 7:30 p.m. on 61st Street near 24th Avenue.Police located a 52-year-old Kenosha man suffering from a stab wound, and he was taken to the hospital in Kenosha, and later flown to Froedtert Hospital.The 38-year-old suspect was taken into custody and was being held in jail on a charge of first degree recklessly endangering safety.
