Firefighters called out to fully involved garage fire in Whitefish Bay

WHITEFISH BAY -- Officials with North Shore Fire/Rescue on Sunday, March 10 were called out to a home in Whitefish Bay for a garage fire.It happened on Woodruff Avenue near Courtland Place.Officials said the garage was fully involved when firefighters arrived.No one was hurt.Damage was estimated at $27,000 to the structure and contents.The cause was under investigation.PHOTO GALLERY

Police: Milwaukee woman intentionally spills wig oil at Walgreens, reports injury

BROWN DEER -- Police say a Milwaukee woman visited a Walgreens store in Brown Deer, and intentionally spilled hair wig oil to slip in it to report she was hurt.According to the Brown Deer Police Department, the Walgreens store near 60th and Brown Deer Road reported a 47-year-old woman slipped on oil in the store and was in pain.The North Shore Fire Department responded to the scene and transported the woman to an area hospital.When officials reviewed the surveillance footage, it was determined the woman intentionally slipped on her own hair wig oil.

WHITEFISH BAY -- North Shore Fire/Rescue officials on Sunday evening, Sept. 2 rescued a woman who fell halfway down a bluff at Big Bay Park/Buckley Park in Whitefish Bay.The woman, who is in her 30s-40s, slipped on mud, and fell down an unpaved portion of the bluff, in heavy foilage and mud.She was taken to the hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.  

2 North Shore firefighters attacked by bees while battling house fire

BAYSIDE -- Two North Shore firefighters were attacked by bees while fighting a fire at a home near Glencoe Place and Lake Drive Friday night, Aug. 17.It happened around 8 p.m. A 911 call from the home reported that someone was inside the home due to a noise coming from a back room.

BROWN DEER -- Two people were evaluated at the scene of a carbon monoxide response in Brown Deer Sunday, May 13.Crews were called out to a home near Green Bay and Cherrywood, and found carbon monoxide levels at 40 parts-per-million in one unit, and as high as 100 parts-per-million in another.We're told firefighters usually have to wear masks when the levels are at 50 parts-per-million or higher.Everyone was able to get out of the building safely.
