Two children are dead after being trapped in a Fort Atkinson house fire.

Those inside were able to exit the 60,000 square foot building on their own. Everyone who was injured was treated and released on scene.

Former Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputy Janelle Gericke was sentenced on Friday, Jan. 15 to two years in prison and another three years of extended supervision.

Brennan had left his residence in Watertown on Dec. 28 at 12 p.m. to go ice fishing by himself at an unknown location.

Law enforcement began life-saving measures, but the driver succumbed to injuries at the scene. No other people were injured during the incidents.
