No injuries in duplex fire near 42nd and Concordia in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE -- People inside a Milwaukee duplex escaped unharmed after it went up in flames Friday night, Nov. 1.It happened near 42nd Street and Concordia Avenue.Firefighters were on scene quickly, but fire caused visible damage to the home.A damage estimate wasn't immediately released.The cause of the fire was under investigation.

Racine Co. sheriff: 2 in custody following drunk driving incidents in Yorkville

YORKVILLE -- Two men were taken into custody for drunk driving in the Village of Yorkville early Saturday, Nov. 2.According to officials, the Racine County Communications Center received a 911 call for a crash on Durand Avenue near 59th Drive around 2 a.m.Upon arrival, deputies saw a large debris field and a silver pickup truck with heavy damage in the ditch approximately 100 feet from where the car struck a telephone pole.The pole was severely damaged and knocked over, with wires across the road.Both occupants were still inside the vehicle and said they were not injured.The driver, a 46-year-old man, refused field sobriety tests.
