Two injured in shooting incident in Waukesha Thursday

WAUKESHA (WITI) -- Officials in Waukesha are investigating after a 34-year-old man was shot in the lower abdomen on Thursday, September 26th.It happened just after 4:30 p.m. in the 2700 block of Albany Court.The man was taken to Froedtert Hospital via Flight for Life, and is in serious condition.A second subject suffered non life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.No suspects are in custody at this time.

Waukesha investigators seek clues in cold case from the 1950s

WAUKESHA CO. (WITI) -- The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a letter that was received which states that in the late 1950’s, possibly fall of 1957 or 1958, a homicide occurred near a low-lying bridge on Okauchee Lake.

Brookfield police investigate three residential burglaries

BROOKFIELD (WITI) -- The Brookfield Police Department received three burglary reports to occupied residences and two possible attempted burglary reports to occupied residences early Thursday morning, September 19th.According to officials, the reports began coming in around 3:30 a.m. for the vicinity of North Avenue and Springdale Road.Of the three burglaries, two occurred when the suspect entered unlocked vehicles in the driveway, used the over-head garage door opener and gained access to the garage.

Two killed, three injured in serious crash in Waukesha County

WAUKESHA (WITI) -- FOX6 News has learned two people were killed and three were injured following a serious crash in Waukesha County Sunday night, September 8th.It happened just before 1:00 p.m. on westbound Highway 16 near the Village of Nashotah.The initial investigation shows that a Nissan was travelling eastbound on Highway 16, just west of County Highway C, when the vehicle left the roadway and traveled into the gore area for the eastbound Highway 16 off-ramp to County Highway C.The Nissan then came back onto the roadway, crossed over the median of Highway 16 and struck a Toyota head-on in the westbound lanes.The eastbound vehicle (a Nissan) was carrying two people.

Man who serves on Waukesha's PFC accused of stealing scrap metal

WAUKESHA (WITI) -- Waukesha city employees are accused of stealing scrap metal and pocketing close to $40,000 in cash, and one of the accused is in charge of hiring and firing law enforcement officials.The owner of Waukesha Recycling says these individuals were "regulars," and says he was surprised to hear they are accused of stealing.For years, Phil Rehberg saw Waukesha DPW employees bringing in city scraps."Everything from aluminum cans to scrap metal, even sometimes aluminum signs and stuff," Rehberg said.In return, three DPW employees got thousands in cash.That's why Rehberg was surprised when deputies showed up with questions."Normally, we see shady characters from time to time.

New Berlin police arrest so-called "Goodwill robber"

NEW BERLIN (WITI) -- Officials with the New Berlin Police Department say the so-called "Goodwill armed robber" has been captured.Officials say the suspect is a man from Florida -- identified as Aldie Berrios-Velez.Officials say the DNA he left on a crowbar found at the Goodwill store on Moorland Rd.

Waukesha detective suspended 30 days after OWI arrest

WAUKESHA COUNTY (WITI) -- After he was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, Detective Bradley Anderson of the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department was suspended for 30 days without pay, as of Tuesday, July 30th.According to a news release, the investigation into Anderson, who has worked for the Sheriff's Department for 23 years, is now complete.
