A ridge of high pressure builds over the region today and through the weekend. We will be sunny but chilly today with highs in the upper 20s. The wind shifts to the southwest tomorrow to warm us into the 40s for the weekend. We can expect a few more clouds later this weekend but should stay dry both Saturday and Sunday. A few chance for very light rain and snow showers come next week.

While Thursday's snow may have caused some problems for their parents out on the messy roads, kids who were off school enjoyed a day of fun outdoors.

Before the flurries even fell Thursday, classes were canceled for students in Wisconsin's largest school district, Milwaukee Public Schools. Most of the other districts followed suit, making for a rare snow day for Wisconsinites.

A crash closed I-43 northbound at County C in Ozaukee County Thursday afternoon as snow fell.

A crash on I-41 southbound near Kewaskum as snow fell Thursday involved 30 vehicles and left three people hurt.

The roads were a mess across southeast Wisconsin Thursday as snow fell.

Snow tapering off overnight but staying windy. Temperatures dropping into the teens. Mostly sunny on Friday with highs in the upper 20s.

Winter Storm Warning now until 12am for Milwaukee. Several inches of additional snow possible through 10pm. Slick roads and low visibility likely. Please use caution.

Very messy weather continues this afternoon and evening with several inches of snow expected by later tonight. Sunshine returns tomorrow, then 40s over the weekend.
