All lanes clear on I-43 NB at Racine Avenue in Waukesha Co. after crash

WAUKESHA COUNTY -- All lanes on I-43 are now clear at Racine Avenue (County Y) after a traffic accident Friday, December 1st.The New Berlin Police Department said the Sheriff's Department has closed the Racine Avenue bridge over I-43 due to an accident with a dump truck on I-43 striking the bridge.Officials said Racine Avenue was closed in both directions in that area.

Brookfield police look to identify Best Western armed robbery suspect

ICE board recommends approval for Waukesha Co. after sheriff asked for immigration enforcement authority

WAUKESHA COUNTY -- The Program Advisory Board at the Department of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has recommended approval for Waukesha County in obtaining 287(g) authority.Final approval is pending with the director if ICE and is expected to take up to four weeks, according to a press release from sheriff's officials.Waukesha County Sheriff Eric Severson made the request in a May 15th letter obtained by the American Civil Liberties Union in Milwaukee.Deputies can perform duties of immigration agents after completing a four-week training course with Immigration and Custom Enforcement as part of the 287(g) program.

1 in custody following pursuit that happened 2 days after carjacking in Brookfield Pick 'n Save parking lot

BROOKFIELD -- One suspect was arrested after a pursuit that happened two days after a carjacking in the Pick 'n Save parking lot near 124th and Capitol in Milwaukee.According to Brookfield police, on Saturday, November 11th, around 8:15 p.m. a victim said she returned to her vehicle and shortly after sitting down, a black male "pointed a large black gun at her," and demanded she get out of her vehicle and leave the keys inside.When she exited, the victim said she saw a silver or white four-door vehicle occupied by three black males.Both vehicles fled eastbound on Capitol Drive at a high rate of speed.Officers in the area were unable to locate any vehicles matching the descriptions provided.On Monday night, an officer in the area of 108th and Hampton believed they'd observed the victim's stolen car, but lost it in the area.

Gift cards for bail: Elderly woman scammed into buying $4,000 in Target gift cards

BROOKFIELD -- Brookfield police are asking for the public’s help identifying three suspects in connection with a report of fraud that targeted an elderly woman.According to officials, police took a report of a fraud in which the elderly victim bought $4,000 worth of Target gift cards at the instruction of an unknown male who claimed to be her nephew.The suspect stated he was involved in a crash and needed bail money--  but she had to provide the bail money in gift cards.Police have released photos of the suspects that redeemed the gift cards.

60-year-old man leads police on pursuit; faces 2nd OWI charge

WAUKESHA COUNTY -- A 60-year-old man was taken to the hospital after he led police on a pursuit Saturday night, October 28th.According to the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department, just after 8:00 p.m. Deputies attempted to located a possible drunk driver that was leaving a restaurant in the City of Brookfield.

Waukesha police: 60-year-old man trapped between vehicles dies at US Foods

WAUKESHA -- A 60-year-old man was found dead after police say he became trapped between two vehicles at US Foods.Police on Monday, October 16th responded to the scene near Gale Street and Whiterock Avenue around 12:30 p.m.Life-saving efforts were unsuccessful, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
