2nd driver dies after crash on I-94 near Elmhurst Road in Delafield

DELAFIELD -- Officials with the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department on Monday, Dec. 10 announced a second person died as a result of a crash that happened on I-94 near Elmhurst Road on Friday, Dec. 7.The victims have been identified as Sean Scherer, 30, from Madison and Freddie Johnson, 58, from Brookfield.It happened around 1:30 p.m. on Friday.Sheriff's officials said a vehicle driven by Scherer was headed eastbound on I-94 when he lost control, crossed the center median and struck a vehicle driven by Johnson, who was headed westbound on I-94.Scherer died at the scene, and Johnson died at the hospital.

Man prosecutors say confessed to drugging, raping his girlfriend pleads not guilty

WAUKESHA -- A 20-year-old man accused of drugging and raping his own girlfriend has pleaded not guilty.Edgardo Nieves was in court Monday, Dec. 10 for his preliminary hearing, which he waived before entering the not guilty plea.He faces four felony charges: False imprisonment, administering dangerous/stupefying drug, second degree sexual assault/intoxicated victim -- two counts.Nieves was bound over for trial, and a hearing was set for Jan. 3.According to prosecutors, Nieves walked into the Waukesha Police Department and reported the crime.According to a criminal complaint, Nieves told police sex with his girlfriend at her Waukesha apartment was consensual at first.

2 men suspected of retail theft in Waukesha, police need help to ID them

PEWAUKEE -- A driver was arrested for his second OWI offense after he was found slumped over the wheel of a vehicle that was running and in drive in Pewaukee on Sunday, Oct. 28.According to the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department, the vehicle was found with its brake lights on and headlights off in the middle of traffic at Redford Boulevard and Homewood Court.Before waking the driver, deputies slipped stop sticks in front of his vehicle just in case the car rolled forward.

DELAFIELD -- A 34-year-old woman from California died in crash in the Town of Delafield early Wednesday morning, Oct. 24.According to the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office, authorities received a 911 call around 12:20 p.m. regarding a crash on Highway 83 in the area of Glacier Pass.Upon arrival, deputies located an SUV and a box truck, both with severe damage.

Sheriff's officials identify 18-year-old man fatally shot in Town of Lisbon

LISBON -- Officials with the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department on Thursday, Oct. 18 identified an 18-year-old man fatally shot in the Town of Lisbon Wednesday morning as Austin McGuire.It happened around 10:30 a.m. at a home near Maple and Northview.Sheriff's officials said deputies responded and found McGuire on the floor in the kitchen, in need of immediate medical attention, after suffering a gunshot wound to the chest.

NEW BERLIN -- A 62-year-old Mukwonago woman died in a crash on I-43 northbound in New Berlin Wednesday, Oct. 17.It happened just after 2 p.m. near Moorland Road and involved four vehicles.Waukesha County sheriff's officials, New Berlin police, the New Berlin Fire Department and Wisconsin State Patrol responded.No one else was hurt.I-43 northbound was closed for several hours as a result of the crash.
