Harborside Academy student taken into custody for bringing marijuana-laced Rice Krispies to school

KENOSHA -- A 15-year-old student at Harborside Academy was taken into custody for allegedly bringing marijuana-laced treats to school.Officials say a Kenosha Police Department school resource officer was notified by school officials on Tuesday, March 20, about a student found in possession of plain and chocolate marijuana-laced Rice Krispies Treats.Kenosha police say the student received the edibles from his mother's 30-year-old live-in boyfriend, and was directed by him to sell them at school.A search warrant was conducted at the student's residence that afternoon, where further evidence of narcotics was found, officials say.According to police, the 30-year-old male suspect was taken into custody for felony charges of manufacture/deliver marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, maintaining a drug trafficking place and contributing to the delinquency of a child.The 15-year-old student was taken into custody on a misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana and a felony charge of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.A 16-year-old girl, who was the sister of the student suspect, was also taken into custody for obstructing an officer during the investigation.

1 dead, 3 injured following crash in Kenosha County; cause still under investigation

KENOSHA COUNTY -- One person died and three others were injured, one severely, following a three-vehicle crash in Kenosha County Wednesday night, October 11th.Officers located the accident around 9:00 p.m. at the intersection of 52nd Street and 22nd Avenue.The accident involved three vehicles: an SUV and a passenger car initially collided in the intersection, with a second passenger car receiving damage in a secondary collision.The SUV was driven by a 22-year-old man, while the passenger car was driven by a 49-year-old man with two female passengers, ages 46 and 41.

Burglars target Kenosha technology stores but get caught

KENOSHA — Police say burglars stole about $33,000 worth of cellphones and tablet computers from a store in Kenosha before getting caught.Authorities say three people smashed through a glass door at McTernan Wireless shortly before 2:30 a.m. Monday and made off with the merchandise.Police say the same three suspects then tried the same thing at an AT&T store but failed to get in.The suspects were stopped and arrested in Pleasant Prairie a short time later.
