State Fair 2014 "another one for the record books" -- so how many people attended?

WEST ALLIS (WITI) – Wisconsin State Fair Park Officials are excited to announce the 2014 Wisconsin State Fair, presented by U.S. Cellular, once again celebrated a record-breaking year on many levels.Both weekends brought out large crowds, including two of the highest paid attendance days in the history of the Fair.

WEST ALLIS (WITI) -- The last day of the Wisconsin State Fair on Sunday, August 10th was dedicated to those who have served our country.All veterans, military members, and their families received free admission to the Fair on Sunday, and were welcome to participate in a special military program at the Bank Mutual Amphitheater or the Recognition Day Parade.Among the hundreds of people at the Wisconsin State Fair on its final day for 2014 -- there were some really special guests, and Ensley Brown was one of them.Sunday was "Veteran and Military Appreciation Day" -- and Brown is an Army veteran.

Record shattered! Governor's Blue Ribbon Livestock Auction raises over $313,000!

WEST ALLIS (WITI) – Wisconsin State Fair Officials and members of the Blue Ribbon Sale of Champions Foundation are pleased to announce the 46th Annual Governor’s Blue Ribbon Livestock Auction at the 2014 Wisconsin State Fair was one for the record books.The evening raised a total of $313,350, shattering the previous record of $255,400, raised in 2005, and surpassing the 2013 total by $76,600.Bucky Badger and the UW-Marching Band welcomed everyone to the Case IH Coliseum and set the tone for a high-energy evening.The exhibitors and their champion animals joined the Governor on stage as the auction kicked off at 6:30 p.m.Bidding commenced with the Grand Champion Steer (Crossbred) exhibited by Lauren May of Mineral Point, Wis.

Proceeds directly benefit the youth exhibitors: Gov. Walker hosts Governor's Blue Ribbon Livestock Auction

WEST ALLIS (WITI) -- Governor Scott Walker hosts the annual Governor’s Blue Ribbon Livestock Auction Wednesday night, August 6th at the Wisconsin State Fair and hosted the 23rd annual Governor’s Blue Ribbon Meat Products Auction Tuesday night, raising record-setting funds that support youth in Wisconsin agriculture.The proceeds of the livestock auction will be used to directly benefit the youth exhibitors through scholarships to assist with their continuing education.
