WEST ALLIS -- West Allis police scheduled a press conference for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20 to provide an update more than two months after the fatal stabbing of Ryan Sorensen of Onalaska.The stabbing happened near 71st Street and Rogers Street on Sept. 15 just before 2 a.m.Police said Tuesday, Nov. 19 no arrests had been made.During the Wednesday afternoon press conference, police said they planned to share a sketch of the female wanted in connection with this homicide, and "renew our request for assistance from the public for information relating to this incident."

Police: 82-year-old man killed in single-vehicle crash near 108th and Oklahoma in West Allis

WEST ALLIS -- An 82-year-old man lost his life in a crash near 108th Street and Oklahoma Avenue in West Allis on Monday afternoon, Nov. 18.It happened around 3 p.m.Police said an initial investigation revealed the man was headed south on 108th Street when his vehicle crossed over the center median into northbound traffic, and onto the east sidewalk -- striking a fire hydrant and two trees.The man, who was from Greenfield, was the sole occupant of the vehicle.Speed and alcohol did not appear to be factors in this incident, according to police.The cause was under investigation.

West Allis police share surveillance photo of van after several reports of tool thefts from work trucks

WEST ALIS -- West Allis police on Wednesday, Nov. 13 shared surveillance photos of a van possibly involved in "a recent uptick" in thefts involving tools taken from work trucks.Police said the crimes happened overnight in the area between 92nd Street, 52nd Street, Burnham Street, and Arthur Avenue, and indicated a newer model white minivan might have been involved.Residents were reminded to please lock vehicles and to remove valuable items from them whenever possible.

Police: 2 arrested after cellphone store robbery led to pursuit ending in crash

WEST ALLIS -- A pursuit ended in a crash after a cellphone store robbery in West Allis on Tuesday morning, Oct. 29.Police said around 11:40 a.m., officers responded to the T-Mobile store on S. 108th Street near Greenfield Avenue, where police said offenders entered the store, displayed a handgun, and stole cellphones.

West Allis man gets 6 years in prison after 17-year-old fatally shot during robbery

WEST ALLIS -- One of two men charged after a 17-year-old boy was shot and killed during a robbery near 56th Street and Greenfield Avenue in West Allis in June was sentenced to prison Thursday, Oct. 24.Antonio Sanfilippo, 18, on Oct. 3 pleaded guilty to one count of felony murder, as party to a crime.

Woman struck by vehicle in West Allis alley lost 3-year-old daughter in fire, adult daughter at age 23

WEST ALLIS -- West Allis police on Monday, Oct. 14 identified the woman who was struck by a vehicle in an alley near 58th Street and Lincoln Avenue around 12:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 11, and later died from her injuries as 51-year-old Jean Haas.

WEST ALLIS -- West Allis police on Wednesday, Sept. 25 asked for help identifying and locating a man accused of pulling a gun at Family Dollar near 93rd Street and Greenfield Avenue.Police said it happened after after two people suspected in previous thefts got into an argument with an employee.One of the individuals produced a handgun, pointed it at employees, and threatened to shoot them, police said.The two people then fled on foot, and may have gotten into a burgundy sedan.One individual was described as a man, black, between the ages of 20 and 30, wearing a black baseball cap with a "Jordan" logo, a black and white colored hooded sweatshirt, faded jeans, and white colored shoes.
