KENOSHA -- A 26-year-old man has died after he was ejected from a vehicle during a crash on State Highway 142 near the Des Plaines River in Kenosha early Saturday, September 2nd.The Kenosha County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene around 6:21 a.m., after a passerby discovered a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer that crashed into the north ditch.Officials say the 26-year-old driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

Man in critical condition after being struck by train in Kenosha County
KENOSHA COUNTY -- A man was taken to the hospital by Flight for Life early Tuesday morning, August 22nd after he was struck by a train in Kenosha County.Deputies say it happened just after midnight near 258th Court and Wilmot Road in Trevor.According to the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department, the investigation revealed that an 18-year-old man was on the tracks with intent to video the moving train with his cell phone when he was struck.Reportedly, the conductor of the Canadian National train saw the man and began to slow it down -- to approximately 35 miles per hour.

KENOSHA — Police say burglars stole about $33,000 worth of cellphones and tablet computers from a store in Kenosha before getting caught.Authorities say three people smashed through a glass door at McTernan Wireless shortly before 2:30 a.m. Monday and made off with the merchandise.Police say the same three suspects then tried the same thing at an AT&T store but failed to get in.The suspects were stopped and arrested in Pleasant Prairie a short time later.

KENOSHA COUNTY -- 15-year-old Timothy Carson, accused of stabbing a classmate to death at Bradford High School was in court Thursday, July 20th for his preliminary hearing.Carson has been charged as an adult for the death of Dezjon Taylor, who died after he was stabbed in the heart on April 25th.Probable cause was found for further proceedings in this case, and Carson was bound over for trial.

KENOSHA COUNTY -- Officials with the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department are asking that people pack their patience as Country Thunder begins Thursday, July 20th as the recovery process continues after severe flooding.As storms moved through Wednesday night, officials said there were no problems, or road closures as a result of the rainfall, which lasted into Thursday morning.Sheriff's officials offered an update Thursday, indicating since Sunday, they had responded to 690 calls for service, including 11 reports of minor road hazards, 22 motorist assist calls, 26 medical calls, 12 service calls, five citizen assist calls, five boating law violations, and 91 other additional patrols.Country Thunder was fully staffed beginning Wednesday, as the large festival begins Thursday.Sheriff's officials noted people began arriving Wednesday night to set up their campsites, and no incidents or violations were reported.
