MILWAUKEE -- In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, children in Milwaukee are left wondering how to spend their summer -- normally a time for socializing with friends and enjoying the outdoors.The Milwaukee Police Department and Milwaukee Public Schools released a Facebook video on Friday, May 22 to give kids some ideas.MPD Superintendent Keith Posley called on his friend, Milwaukee Police Chief Alfonso Morales, to educate children on how to stay safe from the coronavirus but still have a fun summer.

Harley-Davidson begins 'planned phased approach' to resume building motorcycles

MILWAUKEE -- A spokesperson for Harley-Davidson tells FOX6 News on Friday, May 22 the motorcycle maker has "begun a planned phased approach to resuming production in its facilities, following the guidelines of public health and regulatory authorities and keeping employee health and safety front and center."Officials say at all of its facilities, Harley-Davidson has "implemented enhanced safety measures, protocols to support social distancing and is bolstering its already-rigorous cleaning and sanitation practices."Harley-Davidson announced on March 18 the suspension of production in the United States as a result of the coronavirus.

12-year-old struck by bullet that entered home near 25th and Capitol

MILWAUKEE -- A 12-year-old girl was hurt when a bullet entered her home and struck near Thursday afternoon, May 21 near 25th Street and Capitol Drive.It happened just after 12:30 p.m.The girl suffered injuries that are not life-threatening.The circumstances leading up to the shooting are still under investigation.

Sheriff: Kenosha County driver arrested for OWI struck barn 'occupied by numerous animals'

TOWN OF BURLINGTON -- A Kenosha County woman, 60, was arrested for OWI, first offense Thursday morning, May 21 after Racine County sheriff's officials said her vehicle struck a barn "occupied by numerous animals" in the Town of Burlington.Officials with the Racine County Sheriff's Office said a 911 call came in just after 7 a.m. regarding a reckless driver who "blew a stop sign" and was driving on the gravel shoulder in the area of Pine Street and Karcher Road in the Town of Burlington.As deputies were dispatched to the area, the caller provided an update -- indicating the reckless driver had struck a barn  near Pine Street and Schaal Road.A preliminary investigation revealed the woman was headed northbound on Pine when she crossed over the center line into oncoming traffic, left the roadway and proceeded through the culvert.

Police seek 3 who broke into apartment garage, stole from vehicles on Weil near Burleigh

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police on Thursday, May 21 asked for help identifying and locating three young men who broke into a garage at an apartment complex on Weil Street near Burleigh Street and stole items from vehicles parked inside.It happened Monday, May 4 around 11 p.m.The three were described by police as follows:Suspect #1: Male, black between the ages of 15 and 19, with a thin build.

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police on Thursday, May 21 asked for help identifying a man who got away with money after police said he tried pulling the cash tray from a register at a store near Hampton Avenue and Hopkins Street.It happened Tuesday, May 19 around 6:15 p.m.Police said the cashier was assisting a paying customer, and while the register was open, the man reached in and tried pulling out the cash tray.There was then a struggle between the cashier and the man -- who ran from the store with money.

Apple, Google release technology for pandemic apps

NEW YORK -- Apple and Google on Wednesday released long-awaited smartphone technology to automatically notify people if they might have been exposed to the coronavirus.The companies said 22 countries and several U.S. states are already planning to build voluntary phone apps using their software.
