Police called out to KK River Parkway for "sudden death"

MILWAUKEE -- An investigation is underway after a body was found near the KK River Parkway on Monday afternoon, March 7th.Police are calling this a "sudden death."A man was found dead in the area around 1:45 p.m. Police were called to the scene by officials with the Milwaukee Fire Department.The man has been identified as 43-year-old Curt Lamping.Officials with the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office say Lamping was homeless.The cause of death in this case is pending toxicology testing, but officials say there was no trauma to Lamping's body.This death is not being treated as suspicious.PHOTO GALLERYMonitor FOX6 News and FOX6Now.com for updates on this developing story.

Scary situation: Young child found alone, late at night, riding tricycle near 43rd & Good Hope

MILWAUKEE -- A scary situation in Milwaukee late on Monday night, March 7th: Police say a small child was found near 43rd and Good Hope Road alone, riding a tricycle.A citizen called police around 10:30 p.m. regarding this child.Police said the child was around the age of three.The child's parents were located, and it was determined that the mother left the child with an adult, and that adult dozed off.The child was riding the tricycle earlier in the day, and apparently wanted to ride it again.The child wasn't hurt.Police said the child was returned to the parents and the Bureau of Milwaukee Child Welfare was notified.No arrests were made, and charges are not being sought in this case.

MILWAUKEE -- Police are investigating a shooting that happened on Milwaukee's north side on Tuesday afternoon, March 8th.It happened around 1:30 p.m. near 35th and Villard -- in a home in the area.Police say a 36-year-old woman was shot during circumstances that are under investigation.She was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.Police are investigating.

MILWAUKEE -- District Five officers from the Milwaukee Police Department arrested a suspect wanted in two burglaries after he fled from a crime scene pulling a suitcase filled with stolen items.The officers responded to a business near Capitol Drive and Holton Street around 3:55 a.m. on March 6th for a burglar alarm.

Police seek known suspect after fatal shooting near 30th and Auer

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are investigating a homicide that happened early on Sunday morning, March 6th.Police say a 23-year-old woman was shot by a known 24-year-old woman who came over to the victim's home to settle an argument.The shooting happened just before 3:00 a.m. near 30th and Auer.The 23-year-old victim died at the scene despite the life-saving efforts of police and officials with the Milwaukee Fire Department.

Three shot and killed in home on southwest side, suspect in custody

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police say three people were shot and killed on the city's southwest side on Sunday evening, March 6th -- and a suspect is in custody.Police say a man shot and killed three victims around 5:45 p.m. at a home near 92nd and Beloit.A witness reported hearing gunshots coming from a four-unit apartment building.The victims are one woman in her 30s, and two men (one in his 40s and the other in his 50s), and they were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police: Woman's body discovered on rocks at McKinley Marina

MILWAUKEE -- District Three officers from the Milwaukee Police Department used ShotSpotter technology to arrest two suspects after shots were fired in a west side neighborhood.ShotSpotter, a gunfire locator system that pinpoints precise locations from which gunshots were fired, alerted officers to shots fired in the 900 block of N. 24th Street around 6:55 p.m. on March 3.
