Fire at Maynard Steel Company near 27th & KK River Parkway quickly extinguished
MILWAUKEE -- Officials with the Milwaukee Fire Department tell FOX6 News no one was hurt in a fire at the Maynard Steel Company -- located near the intersection of S. 27th Street and Kinnickinnic River Parkway in Milwaukee.The call for this fire came in around 3:15 p.m. The fire was brought under control within about 20 minutes.The fire occurred in a storage area for molds for casings.Workers in the general area of the storage area were evacuated due to smoke concerns.Plant personnel were able to douse the fire with handheld chemical extinguishers, and the fire was smoldering with firefighters arrived.The cause of the fire is under investigation.Damage is estimated at $20,000 for materials inside the building.
MFD: One shooting victim transported from scene near 84th and Melvina

Milwaukee police investigate fatal shooting near 52nd & Glendale
MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are investigating a homicide that happened near 52nd and Glendale on Saturday evening, February 6th.A 32-year-old Milwaukee man, who has been identified as Earnest Love, was shot around 9 p.m. Despite life-saving measures by police officers and the Milwaukee Fire Department, the victim was pronounced dead on the scene.Milwaukee police are seeking suspects in this case -- and are working to determine a motive.PHOTO GALLERY
