CALEDONIA -- A Caledonia man accused of dumping an overdose victim's body in Franklin in November 2017 was sentenced to probation after he pleaded guilty Tuesday, March 26.Wayne Slagle, 58, entered the plea to one misdemeanor charge of failing to report a death/unusual circumstances.

CALEDONIA -- Police reminded everyone to wear their seat belts after a bad crash Tuesday night on 7 Mile Road.It happened between Foley Road and Botting Road -- and police called it a "near head-on crash." It appears to have involved two vehicles.They said "miraculously, everyone survived."The cause of the crash is under investigation.It's unclear whether anyone was hurt -- nor the extent of those injuries.

CALEDONIA -- A 67-year-old woman is in the hospital with serious injuries after police say her son violently attacked her Friday morning, May 18.Police were called out around 7 a.m. to the woman's home for a violent domestic incident.According to Caledonia police, the victim's 32-year-old son may have "ingested or inhaled exotic/designer substances such as essential oils and bath salts." As she was attempting to treat the effects of the chemicals, her son became violent and started attacking her.The man said he was trying to “kill her and she was the devil.” Police say he strangled his mother and bit through a portion of her lip.Nearly 20 stitches were needed to repair the facial injuries.Officials say the man's girlfriend was able to stop the violent attack.

CALEDONIA -- A man, 55, died at the hospital on Wednesday, Jan. 10 after a crash Tuesday, Jan. 9 on Highway 38/Highway H, Caledonia police said Thursday.Police said it happened around 11:30 a.m.The man was taken to the hospital from the scene via Flight for Life -- where he died as a result of his injuries.He's been identified as Kee Ko Yee.Caledonia police are investigating, along with the Wisconsin State Patrol.
