MILWAUKEE -- A woman was arrested for OWI, first offense after a crash near Miller Park Wednesday morning, June 26.It happened around 8:30 a.m.Officials with the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office said the woman was headed northbound on the West Wells Street on-ramp to State Highway 175 when she lost control of her vehicle and struck the right guardrail.The vehicle stopped on the right side of the guardrail, facing the wrong way.An investigation was ongoing.

Warm Up Winter: MFD officials collect donations to buy winter coats for kids in need

MILWAUKEE -- On a warm Tuesday, June 25, officials with the Milwaukee Fire Department collected donations for their "Warm Up Winter" program, which provides new winter coats for Milwaukee students in need.Since 2011, more than 34,000 winter coats have been furnished to Milwaukee students at 70 schools, with a total of $502,000 raised through fundraising efforts such as this annual three-day event.Oftentimes, when children do not have proper coats, they will either fail to attend school and/or will not participate in outdoor recess, which helps them burn excess energy and allows them to focus during class.

Police: 4 arrested after pursuit of stolen vehicle ended near 39th and Keefe

MILWAUKEE -- Four people were arrested when a pursuit involving a stolen vehicle ended with a high-risk traffic stop near 39th and Keefe Avenue on Monday, June 24.Police said the pursuit was initiated for reckless driving near Capitol and Sherman.The vehicle was reported stolen out of Fox Point.Stop sticks brought the vehicle to a stop, and four people were taken into custody.
