Racine police investigating death of infant, father arrested

RACINE -- A 24-year-old man was arrested in connection to the death of his infant child.Friday, Feb. 22 authorities were called to a home near Summit Avenue and Rapids Drive in Racine, for a report of a child not breathing.The baby was transported to Children's Hospital, where authorities discovered the infant had injuries that could be cause for them to stop breathing.The baby's father was arrested in connection to the case and is being held in the Racine County Jail.Racine police investigators are interested in any additional information from the public on this incident.

Racine woman accused of stabbing 59-year-old man in wheelchair

RACINE -- A 57-year-old woman is facing multiple charges after allegedly stabbing a disabled man in his apartment.Carole Knudtson is facing one count aggravated battery, one count resisting an agency and one count second-degree recklessly endangering safety after the alleged incident.According to a criminal complaint, Racine police officers responded to a rescue call near Maryland and Kentucky on Wednesday, Feb. 6.

Racine police officer found not guilty in excessive force trial

RACINE -- Racine Police Officer Brinelle Nabors was found not guilty on Friday, Jan. 11 in his excessive force trial.Officer Nabors is accused of punching a 14-year-old in the face while arresting him back in 2015.Prosecutors say the student was not physically threatening to the officer and Nabors had other options.The defense says Nabors was just following his training but prosecutors disputed that.

Member of Racine Police Department on leave after crash possibly involving alcohol

RACINE -- Racine police said a member of the Racine Police Department was placed on administrative leave after a crash that might have involved alcohol.The crash happened on Dec. 17, just before 8 p.m., near State Street and Harriet Street.Police said alcohol might have been a factor in the crash.The Racine County Sheriff's Office is investigating, and the individual involved was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

Update: Police locate 10-year-old boy reported as a 'runaway' in Racine
