Man convicted of homicide after Jan. 2012 beating, stabbing of estranged wife

MILWAUKEE -- A man who was once a fugitive, charged in connection with the January 2012 death of his estranged wife has been convicted of homicide.A jury on Wednesday, Feb. 14 convicted Jose Discua-Bados, 35, on a count of first degree intentional homicide, use of a dangerous weapon.

Police: Woman shot, injured while sitting in vehicle near Teutonia and Capitol

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are investigating a shooting that happened late Tuesday night, Feb. 13.It happened around 11:35 p.m. near Teutonia Avenue and Capitol Drive.Police say the victim, a 44-year-old woman, was a passenger inside a vehicle when a suspect in a passing vehicle fired shots.The victim suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital.MPD continues to seek a motive and search for a suspect.

MILWAUKEE -- A Milwaukee man is accused of enticing an underage girl to have sex with him at a home in Waukesha.Duane Brown, 58, of Milwaukee faces one count of child enticement.According to a criminal complaint, in October, police learned a child at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin was complaining that an older man had enticed her to have sex with him when she was 15 years old.Prosecutors say Brown told the girl "I know you like me" and "we can be together," going on to say "I'll give you a couple hundreds if that's what you need."The victim told investigators she smelled alcohol on Brown's breath as he said "I don't want nothing but sex."The complaint says investigators spoke with Brown in late October.
