Under investigation: Fire at duplex near 41st and Roosevelt in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Officials are investigating a fire that occurred in a Milwaukee duplex Sunday morning, January 18th.It happened near 41st and Roosevelt.We're told everyone was able to get out of the duplex safely.There is no word yet on a cause of the fire or a damage estimate.

Eleven people; six adults, five children taken to the hospital after carbon monoxide leak

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Six adults and five children are recovering after a carbon monoxide leak inside a home sent them to the hospital.The call came in around 10 p.m. on Wednesday night, January 14th, from a home near N. 27th Street and Townsend Street.A machine alerted the Milwaukee Fire Department to a carbon monoxide leak inside the home.

Police: Five-year-old boy pulled from two-alarm house fire near 77th and Villard

Four people displaced after fire breaks out at two-story home on Becher Street

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Four people were displaced following a fire that occurred on Tuesday evening, January 13th in the 2000 block of Becher Street.It happened around 5:00 p.m.Fire officials say flames spread to both the first and second floors of a two-story wood frame home.No one was injured.We're told a couple living in the upstairs portion of the home noticed smoke coming from the lower level and evacuated.The four people displaced are being assisted by the American Red Cross.A damage estimate hasn't yet been released.

Fire on Milwaukee's northwest side chases dozens out of apartment complex

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A fire near Appleton and Villard Avenue, just east of Timmerman Airport in Milwaukee, chased 30-40 people out of their apartments.The two-alarm fire was called in around 8 p.m.No injuries have been reported from the fire.A county bus has been called to the scene to help keep people warm.Officers do not believe the fire is suspicious in nature.FOX6 News will continue to monitor this story and bring you updates as soon as more information becomes available.

Firefighters called out to fight basement fire near N. 3rd Street and Melvina

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Firefighters in Milwaukee were called out to a fire near N. 3rd Street and Melvina Street in Milwaukee on Monday night, January 5th.Fire officials tell FOX6 News the fire broke out in a basement around 7:30 p.m., and the fire appeared to start in the basement due to a dryer malfunction.Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control -- but five adults were displaced from the two-and-a-half-story home.No one was injured.A damage estimate hasn't yet been released.Fire officials say the home had working smoke detectors.The Red Cross was called in to assist at the scene.
