NEW BERLIN -- An armed robbery in Waukesha, and a subsequent pursuit of the suspect vehicle led to a lockdown at the Walmart store on Greenfield Avenue in New Berlin on Saturday, October 24th.It all began around 3:20 p.m. -- when New Berlin police were advised of an armed robbery that had just occurred in Waukesha.Waukesha police tell FOX6 News it happened at the Verizon Wireless store on Silvernail Road.The suspects were identified as two or three black males, last seen driving a white SUV.Shortly before 3:30 p.m., a New Berlin officer spotted the suspect vehicle near the intersection of Greenfield Avenue and S.

Man arrested for operating while intoxicated following crash, car fire in New Berlin

NEW BERLIN -- The New Berlin Police Department responded to a two-car accident at Sunnyslope Road and Nicolet Drive Wednesday night, September 16th.According to police, a 51-year-old man was turning left from Nicolet Drive onto southbound Sunnyslope Road when he collided head-on with a northbound vehicle on Sunnyslope Road.

27-year-old man arrested after high-speed pursuit, suspected of DUI, third offense

NEW BERLIN -- New Berlin police say a high-speed pursuit and subsequent "high-risk traffic stop" led to the arrest of a 27-year-old man for DUI.Shortly before 4:00 p.m., police were made aware of a reckless driving complaint on I-43NB near Highway 83 -- near the Town of Mukwonago.Two separate callers reported a vehicle driving erratically and at speeds in excess of 100 miles-per-hour.The vehicle entered the city of New Berlin and was observed by an officer near Moorland Road.The officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but it failed to stop -- continuing northbound on I-43.A pursuit continued, and the suspect lowered the vehicle's speed to 55 miles-per-hour, but he still wasn't stopping the vehicle.The vehicle finally stopped when several squads were following on I-43 at 124th Street.A "high-risk traffic stop" ensued.Police say a language barrier hindered arrest efforts which were improved with the arrival of the police K-9 officer and a Spanish speaking officer.The suspect was eventually taken into custody without incident.

Police, MPD's Bomb Squad investigate suspicious object found in New Berlin's Lions Park

NEW BERLIN -- Three people were taken into custody on Thursday, July 23rd in connection with an incident that began with a report of an armed home invasion in New Berlin around noon.New Berlin police say officers responded to a subdivision near Sunnyslope Road and Beloit Road -- but the suspects and suspect vehicle were gone.Officers were alerted as to a description of the suspect vehicle -- and it was spotted and then stopped near S. 124th Street and Beloit Road.Three people were arrested for prowling.We're told they are not New Berlin residents.Police say the suspects did not have any weapons on them.

NEW BERLIN (WITI) -- New Berlin police say an officer had to be taken to the hospital after that officer's squad SUV was struck by another vehicle on Thursday afternoon, March 19th.It happened around 12:30 p.m. near College Avenue and Sunnyslope Road.The officer was taken to the hospital, but it is believed that officer suffered only minor injuries.The other driver involved in this incident was not hurt.The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department is handling the investigation.
