DOT: Ramps at WIS 50 in Kenosha County to reopen Tuesday morning

KENOSHA (WITI) -- The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is scheduled to reopen the I-94 West (Northbound) exit and I-94 East (Southbound) entrance ramps at WIS 50 in Kenosha County by 5:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, July 1st, weather permitting.The ramps have been closed since March as crews reconstructed the eastbound lanes of WIS 50 between 104th and 130th avenues.

KENOSHA (WITI) -- Kenosha police say a suspect wanted in connection with a fatal tavern shooting has turned himself in -- and is in custody.M.L. Dale was described by police as "armed and dangerous."Police say Dale turned himself in around 6:00 p.m. Sunday, June 29th.Police believe Dale to be responsible for a shooting in a tavern in the 2400 block of 52nd Street -- the Shenanigans Tavern and Liquor Store.Police say a 31-year-old Gurnee, Illinois woman was struck, after police say a black man entered the tavern with a pistol and began shooting -- before fleeing the bar.She was pronounced dead at the hospital.Police were searching for Dale after this shooting -- which occurred around 1:45 a.m. Saturday, June 28th.The shooting has left the neighborhood on edge.Javier Jaramillo works right next door to Shenanigans Tavern and Liquor Store.

Police: Man pronounced dead after body found in water near Southport Beach

KENOSHA (WITI) -- Kenosha police tell FOX6 News a body was discovered in the water near Southport Beach in Kenosha on Monday afternoon, June 23rd.The Kenosha Police Department was notified shortly after 4:30 p.m.Police say an individual told police they came upon a body in the water.The body was pulled from the water, and the man was pronounced dead.Police say the victim is an older man -- in his 50s or 60s.Monitor FOX6 News and FOX6Now.com for updates.

Police: BMO Harris Bank in Kenosha robbed twice within past two weeks

KENOSHA (WITI) -- City of Kenosha police detectives are investigating two bank robberies that occurred within the past two weeks at BMO Harris Bank on 52nd Street in Kenosha.According to officials, on May 30th around 3:30 p.m. a male entered the bank, handed the teller a note asking for money.The second robbery occurred in the same fashion on June 13th at 12:53 p.m.The suspect is described as a white male white, approximately 6” tall, average build, dark hair, mustache, approximately 40 years old.If you have any information regarding these robberies, please call Detective Joshua Zeller at 262-605-5281.

Inspired by one of their own: Kenosha high schoolers donate to Children's Hospital program

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Kenosha high school students gave back in a big way on Thursday, June 12th.Students from Kenosha Bradford High School presented a check for $12,800 to Children's Hospital's "Flashes of Hope" program.The program pays for a professional photographer to take pictures of cancer patients with a loved one, and they're then given copies.The Bradford students began raising the money after a fellow student was diagnosed with leukemia.

Man dies after shooting near Shalom Center in Kenosha...but who shot him?

KENOSHA (WITI) -- FOX6 News has learned a 33-year-old man shot near the Shalom Center in Kenosha on Wednesday afternoon, May 21st has now died.The Shalom Center is located in the 1700 block of 62nd Street.Kenosha police say a 33-year-old man was shot while sitting in a car.It is unknown at this time whether the man shot himself -- or whether he was shot by someone else.Police were conducting interviews with the man, and witnesses in the neighborhood.Neighbors tell FOX6 News they heard one loud "bang," and then saw a man bleeding in the street.Neighbors say the man got right back into the vehicle and drove himself to the hospital.Neighbors say a second man jumped out of the truck and took off running.The shooting incident happened just before 1:30 p.m.Police have not recovered a weapon.The victim in this case was able to drive himself to a hospital for treatment.He later died as a result of injuries suffered.The investigation is ongoing.Kenosha Unified School District tells FOX6 News four schools have been given the "all clear" but were briefly placed on lockdown due to the incident near the Shalom Center.Those schools include: Brass Community School, Frank Elementary School, Kenosha School of Technology, and Lincoln Middle School.

Kenosha police arrest man following robbery, foot chase

KENOSHA (WITI) -- The Kenosha Police Department is applauding the actions of one of their own, Officer Austin Hancock, after he successfully apprehended a man suspected of robbing a CVS Pharmacy early Friday morning, May 9th.According to officials, the suspect entered a CVS Pharmacy on 22nd Avenue and announced a "stick up." The suspect then smashed a cash register and took money before fleeing the scene.Approximately one hour after the robbery, Officer Hancock observed a male walking who matched the description of the robbery suspect.

KENOSHA (WITI) -- A police officer was responding to a call on Saturday evening, April 19th when her squad car hit a 7-foot-wide, 18-inch-deep sinkhole.Kenosha Police told FOX6 News the officer encountered the sinkhole near 23rd Ave.

Kenosha man arrested, charged in several gas drive-offs

MOUNT PLEASANT (WITI) -- Mount Pleasant police say a 26-year-old Kenosha man has been arrested in connection with several gas drive-offs.26-year-old Andrew Jones faces three felonies, and three misdemeanors.Mount Pleasant police say on February 22nd, officers responded to the Kwik Trip on Durand Avenue after a store employee notified police that a vehicle was in their lot by a gas pump that matched the description of a suspect vehicle involved in several gas drive-offs from two Kwik Trip stores.Investigators were looking into two cases involving the Durand Avenue Kwik Trip and three cases involving the Kwik Trip on State Highway 20 and I-94.Police say that when the suspect vehicle arrived at the Durand Avenue Kwik Trip on February 22nd, the store employee did not authorize the pump.

Driver who slammed into school bus in Kenosha doing better

KENOSHA COUNTY (WITI) -- FOX6 News has received an update on a man seriously injured after his vehicle slammed into a school bus on Highway 45 in Kenosha County on Thursday, March 6th.35-year-old Shawn Hudon, from the Village of Paddock Lake was initially taken to Froedtert Hospital by Flight for Life, and was listed in critical condition in Froedtert's ICU.We have learned Hudon remains in the hospital -- but he is now in stable condition, and could be moved to a regular care hospital room soon.Kenosha County Sheriff's deputies have issued Hudon a traffic citation for inattentive driving.Sheriff's officials say evidence suggests Hudon swerved just prior to impacting the rear of the bus.
