KENOSHA -- A 31-year-old woman who was abducted by her children’s father Friday morning, January 8th has been located in Oshkosh. Kenosha police say she is currently being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Jeremy Shorter
The suspect, 33-year-old Jeremy Tyrone Shorter, has not been located. Kenosha police are alerting the public and other agencies as they continue their search for Shorter, who has been on the lam for more than 12 hours now.
It's a grandmother's message to a grandson on the run.
"I would like you to turn yourself in. Whatever happened, it couldn't be too bad. I hope it's not," said Carrie Jackson, Jeremy Shorter's grandmother.
What happened, according to Kenosha police, involves Carrie Jackson's grandchild, Jeremy Shorter, and starts just before 4:30 a.m. Friday morning, when officers are called to an address on Birch Road.
"Some children ran into an apartment, and said their mother is being beat up by their father," said Lieutenant Brad Hetlet, Kenosha Police Department.
Hetlet says when officers arrived the children were OK but...
"They found a little bit of blood in the bedroom," said Jackson.
They did not find Shorter, nor the mother of his two young children -- so they checked security video.
"It appeared that she had some injuries on the left side of her face. It looked like maybe some blood on her lip, maybe an abrasion or some type of injury near her eye -- but it appeared that she was being forced out of the apartment," said Hetlet.
With this information, a search began. Nearly five hours later, the mother of Shorter's children was found by the police department in Oshkosh.
While the alleged victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries, police continue to search for Shorter.
"We have no idea where he is right now. Still on the run apparently in the vehicle. As of now, we don't know what type of charges there will be. We absolutely need to talk to him to find out what happened," said Hetlet.
Police describe 33-year old Jeremy Tyrone Shorter is a black male, 5’09” tall, 270 pounds, wearing a dark colored short sleeve shirt.
