JUNEAU -- Dodge County sheriff's officials said Sunday, Aug. 11 a juvenile confessed to threatening the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness in Beaver Dam.According to sheriff's officials, shortly after 9 a.m. Sunday, two elders reported receiving text message threats while at their homes, indicating the meeting and congregation of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness "were going to be blown up." The sheriff said these particular elders were involved in the Spanish-speaking meetings at this location.The threats were sent from a spoofed number, preventing direct contact with the sender.An investigation led authorities to the device used to spoof the number, and the sender.Sheriff's officials said the threats were determined not to be hate crimes.The building was searched and no explosives were found.

TOWN OF HUBBARD -- Six people, including two children, were hurt in a crash involving three vehicles that happened in the Town of Hubbard in Dodge County Wednesday morning, July 24.It happened around 11:30 a.m. on State Highway 33 near County Road TW.According to the Dodge County Sheriff's Office, an initial investigation revealed a 2001 Honda Accord was traveling west on State Highway 33 and was stopped to make a left/south turn onto County Road TW.A 2009 Dodge Van was traveling west on State Highway 33 and approaching the rear of the Honda when it struck the Honda, causing the Honda to spin into the eastbound traffic lane of State Highway 33.A 2019 Toyota was traveling east on State Highway 33 and struck the Honda, splitting the Honda into two pieces.The driver of the Honda sustained minor injuries and refused medical treatment.The driver and passenger of the Toyota both sustained minor injuries and were transported to the hospital.The driver of the Dodge Van sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital.

DODGE COUNTY -- One person was killed and four others were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Dodge County Thursday night, May 9 at the intersection of Hochheim Road and Freedom Road in the Town of Theresa.The deceased was identified as Alex Nortman, 18 of Mayville.According to the Dodge County Sheriff's Office, an initial investigation showed a car was traveling northbound on Freedom Road when it failed to stop for a stop sign and collided with a pickup truck that was traveling westbound on Hochheim Road.The car was driven by a 19-year-old man from Mayville -- who was transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries not believed to be life-threatening.There were three other passengers in the car -- including Nortman, who was pronounced dead at the scene.The two additional passengers were a 16-year-old girl from Theresa, who was transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries not believed to be life-threatening -- and a 19-year-old man from Mayville who was flown from the scene to the hospital with serious injuries not believed to be life-threatening.The driver of the pickup, a 26-year-old man from rural Mayville, was transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries not believed to be life-threatening.The cause of the crash was under investigation.
