MILWAUKEE -- A Mitchell International Airport spokesperson tells FOX6 News an American Airlines flight traveling from Illinois to North Dakota, made an emergency landing in Milwaukee after experiencing possible mechanical issues Saturday night, October 22nd.The American Airlines flight 3232 was headed from Chicago, Illinois to Fargo, North Dakota.An American Airlines spokesperson tells us there was a reported odor in the cockpit during the flight and as a safety precaution, the plane was diverted Milwaukee.The plane made a safe landing at approximately 8:45 p.m.There were 50 passengers on board and three crew members.

WAUKESHA COUNTY -- On Friday, October 14th, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is scheduled to begin construction of a Park and Ride lot in the Village of Summit in Waukesha County.The lot will be located just west of County P and north of County DR.Upon completion, the Park and Ride will have 150 parking stalls and a multi-use path adjacent to the lot that will connect to the southern-most roundabout on County P.The construction will have virtually no traffic impact to the adjacent roadways.The contractor, Michels Corp., is planning on completing the $412,000 project in summer 2017.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) will have crews do emergency concrete work on I-43 southbound at Lexington Avenue Wednesday, October 5th beginning at 3:00 p.m.The work will be in the right lane on the approach slab to the bridge structure over Lexington.The work will require the right lane on southbound I-43 to be closed in addition to the on-ramp from Silver Spring to I-43 SB.The work is expected to last until 6:00 p.m. when the crews are expected to reopen the lane and ramp to traffic.Crews will remove the loose concrete and replace with asphalt to provide a temporary repair to the roadway.Delays are expected as this will coincide with the afternoon peck travel times.Alternate routes should be considered by the traveling public.

MILWAUKEE -- The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) says 45 people died in traffic crashes on Wisconsin roads in September 2016 -- which has made it the safest month of September in terms of traffic deaths since the end of World War II.According to the WisDOT, traffic fatalities last month were 23 fewer than September 2015, and 13 fewer than the five-year average for the month of September.As of September 30, a total of 440 people have died in Wisconsin traffic crashes this year, including 67 motorcyclist operators, five motorcycle passengers, 33 pedestrians and 10 bicyclists.
