Ismael Bonilla to start as new director of General Mitchell International Airport on February 1st

MILWAUKEE -- General Mitchell International Airport has a new director.Milwaukee County has  hired Ismael Bonilla as Mitchell Airport director -- eight months after the prior airport chief abruptly resigned, the Milwaukee Business Journal is reporting.Bonilla is currently the chief business development officer at Hi-Lite Airfield Services in Jacksonville, Florida.

Mitchell Airport officials expect 16% increase in Thanksgiving-related travel this year

MILWAUKEE -- Smoke was seen coming from the engine of a private plane at Mitchell International Airport on Thursday evening, November 5th.Officials with the airport say no injuries have been reported on the plane (Cessna).The plane was stopped and parked -- with no further smoke being seen from the engine.

New options for air travelers: Frontier to have nonstop service to two Florida destinations

United Express plane makes emergency landing at Mitchell International Airport

New at Mitchell Intl. Airport: Frontier Airlines to launch non-stop service to Las Vegas

MILWAUKEE -- Frontier Airlines will launch new non-stop service from Mitchell International Airport to Las Vegas McCarren International Airport beginning October 25th.The new flights, which will operate seven days per week, will depart Milwaukee at 6:40 p.m. and arrive in Las Vegas at 8:40 p.m. The return flights will leave Las Vegas at 1:30 p.m. and arrive in Milwaukee at 6:55 p.m. The new route is now available for booking online at flyfrontier.com.Frontier already offers daily nonstops from Milwaukee to Denver, Colorado and seasonal service to Cancun, Mexico.
