The shooting happened around 6 p.m., and police said a 65-year-old man was arrested shortly thereafter.

A witness said the suspect pushed the victim before the stabbing, but the suspect told investigators the victim shoved him, according to a criminal complaint.

Milwaukee police are investigating a double shooting that occurred on Monday night, Aug. 31 near 25th and Meinecke. It happened around 7:20 p.m.

According to prosecutors, some of the events preceding the gunfire were captured by multiple surveillance cameras and showed the suspects following the victim.

Milwaukee police are seeking the public’s help in identifying two suspects wanted in connection to the homicide that occurred near 11th and Grant.

Michael Mattioli, 32, a 13-year veteran of the Milwaukee Police Department, has been placed on full suspension. 

The shooting victim's sister-in-law identified him as Emilio Garza, who called Milwaukee home for the last three decades and made a living as a popular corn vendor on the city's south side.

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene on foot -- and police are looking for that person.
