MARYVALE -- The Milwaukee Brewers held a ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at the team’s new spring training and Arizona player development complex, which also included an unveiling of the official name of the facility: American Family Fields of Phoenix.The project includes a new 106,000 square-foot clubhouse building with locker rooms and vastly improved facilities for all of the baseball operations functions, along with a wide array of fan enhancements from new concessions, retail stores, seating and a Daktronics video board.

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee Brewers players on Saturday, Jan. 26 teamed up with Make-A-Wish Wisconsin for a "Build-A-Bear Workshop."Twenty-five "Wish" kids were able to create their own furry friends during the workshop at the Kimpton Journeyman Hotel, attended by Corbin Burnes, Adrian Houser, Brent Suter, Eric Thames, Taylor Williams and Brandon Woodruff.According to a post on the Brewers blog, the kids dressed their creations in baseball apparel and took part in the "heart ceremony" and birth certificate distribution.A lunch followed the workshop.

'California Strong:' Brewers players take part in sold-out softball game to aid shooting, wildfire victims

MALIBU, Calif. -- Members of the Milwaukee Brewers came together Sunday, Jan. 13 for the "California Strong" Celebrity Softball Game, held in response to the Borderline shooting in Thosand Oaks, California, and the devastating wildfires in Northern and Southern California.Christian Yelich, Ryan Braun and Mike Moustakas, along with Rams Quarterback Jared Goff, joined forces with the Southeast Ventura County YMCA to create California Strong -- to raise money and awareness to support those affected by these tragedies.The game took place at Pepperdine University, and featured the Brewers players, plus Cleveland Browns Quarterback Baker Mayfield, actors Adam Sandler and Mira Sorvino, among others, and Bob Uecker in the broadcast booth.Braun and Yelich were among the principal organizers for the sold-out event, along with Mike Attanasio, the son of owner Mark Attanasio.Donations to the "California Strong" initiative are still being accepted.
