MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- FOX6 News has learned Milwaukee Public Schools superintendent Gregory Thornton has officially resigned from the district.This comes one day after Thornton signed a contract worth more than a million dollars with Baltimore City Public Schools.Thornton's contract will have a base salary of $290,000 -- compared to the $265,000 base pay he received from MPS.Thornton starts in Baltimore in July.He served as MPS superintendent for four years.Milwaukee Board of School Directors President Michael Bonds has issued the following statement to FOX6 News on Thornton's resignation:“I’m grateful for Dr.
