Marquette University’s Diederich College of Communication receives $3.5 million gift

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Marquette University’s Diederich College of Communication today announced it has received a $3.5 million gift from the Bernice Shanke Greiveldinger Charitable Trust to fund capital improvement projects in the college’s Johnston Hall.

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A Marquette University spokesman has confirmed for FOX6 News three sexual assaults were reported as occurring on the Marquette campus in November.The first incident occurred on Saturday, November 15th between 1:42 a.m. and 2:05 a.m. It was reported on Tuesday, November 18th at 6:32 p.m. A Marquette spokesman says this was reported as a student being sexually assaulted by another student at McCormick Hall.The second incident occurred on Friday, November 21st between 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. It was reported on Sunday, November 23rd at 12:37 a.m. A Marquette spokesman says this was reported as a student being sexually assaulted by another student in Mashuda Hall.

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Marquette University has announced it has placed its Sigma Phi Delta fraternity on probation effective until May of 2016.The Sigma Phi Delta fraternity was in the news this past spring -- as it was one of three Marquette fraternities to receive an "official warning" due to allegations of misconduct and hazing that allegedly took place at fraternity houses associated with the chapters.
