23-year-old woman dies after she was hit by vehicle in Waukesha

WAUKESHA -- Waukesha police say a 23-year-old woman died after she was struck by a vehicle on Thursday evening, February 4th near the intersection of Highway 164 and Sunset.It happened just before 6:00 p.m.Police say when first responders arrived at the scene, they located the woman who had been hit by a vehicle.Life-saving efforts were unsuccessful, and the woman was pronounced dead at the hospital.PHOTO GALLERY:A Waukesha Police Accident Reconstruction Specialist was called in to investigate this crash.Waukesha police closed northbound Highway 164 north of Sunset due to the crash.That closure was expected to last for three hours.

Four suspects accused of stealing $1,400 worth of condoms, energy drinks, earphones

BROOKFIELD -- Brookfield police have released surveillance photos showing suspects wanted in connection with a retail theft incident that took place at the CVS Pharmacy near Bluemound Road and Calhoun in Brookfield.It happened on January 24th between 5:45 and 6:10 p.m.Police say four suspects entered the CVS Pharmacy and selected and concealed more than $1,400 worth of condoms, five-hour energy drinks and earphones.Suspect #1 is described as a black female with a light complexion, standing 5'5" tall, weighing 110 - 120 pounds.

NEW BERLIN -- Officials with the School District of New Berlin say a New Berlin West High School teacher has been fired following an investigation into an allegation the teacher had an inappropriate relationship with a student.School district officials say New Berlin West administrators learned of the allegation on January 15th.The 28-year-old teacher was immediately placed on administrative leave.An internal investigation by the School District of New Berlin has now concluded, and the teacher has been fired.New Berlin police continue their investigation into this allegation.Earlier this week, police told FOX6 News the case was expected to be handed over to the District Attorney's Office by week's end.This teacher has not yet been officially charged.In a statement, school district officials said:

WAUKESHA -- The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department issued a warning Thursday morning, January 28th regarding computer scams.In multiple cases, victims receive an error message on their computer indicating they have a virus or their computer is “infected," according to the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department.The message directs them to call the number provided to resolve the issues.

Garrett and Tricia Rees, accused of hoarding hundreds of chinchillas, learn their punishment

WAUKESHA COUNTY -- Garrett and Tricia Rees, the Muskego couple accused of hoarding chinchillas have been sentenced to serve two years probation.On Wednesday, January 27th, they pleaded no contest to a charge of child neglect and intentionally providing improper animal shelter (ventilation).Officials say they found more than 300 chinchillas in their home.The home was declared uninhabitable, and the couple's seven-year-old child was removed from the home.Garrett and Tricia Rees cannot possess any animals, except for the two cats they already own.The chinchillas are being cared for by the Humane Animal Welfare Society (HAWS) in Waukesha County.

Waukesha P.D.: 3 officers on paid administrative leave in wake of officer-involved shooting

WAUKESHA -- Waukesha Police Chief Russell Jack fielded questions on Monday morning, January 25th in relation to an officer-involved shooting that happened late on Sunday.Chief Jack told reporters a suicidal man was shot and injured by three different police officers before he was taken into custody, and transported to Waukesha Memorial Hospital.This all began just before 9:00 p.m., when the City of Waukesha's Emergency Communications Center received a call from a woman reporting that her boyfriend was drinking alcohol, and was very depressed.The woman reported her boyfriend has a history of suicide attempts and he was in possession of a firearm -- possibly an AR-15, that she said was under his futon.

Kohl's Off-Aisle, Rogan's Shoes coming to Sunset Crossing shopping center in Waukesha

Several in custody after separate vehicle thefts, pursuit in Menomonee Falls

MENOMONEE FALLS -- Menomonee Falls police say several people are in custody following separate vehicle thefts and one pursuit that occurred late on Saturday, January 2nd.Police say two people are in custody following a report of a vehicle theft and subsequent pursuit.Police say around 10:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of a vehicle theft near Lynwood Drive and Menomonee Avenue.Officers in the area observed the vehicle, and pursued it to the intersection of Menomonee Avenue and Town Line Road, where the vehicle left the roadway and became stuck in a snow bank.The vehicle's passenger was taken into custody immediately.Police say the driver fled the scene on foot.A perimeter was established, and with the assistance of the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department and New Berlin K-9 officers the driver was taken into custody near Lannon Road and Schlei Road.

Two suspects at large, accused of stealing from vehicles parked in Menomonee Falls

MENOMONEE FALLS -- Menomonee Falls police are seeking two suspects accused of entering vehicles in the parking lot of a business, and stealing items from those vehicles.Police say on Tuesday, December 29th shortly before noon, two black males entered three parked vehicles in a manufacturing company's parking lot -- removing a Ruger 9mm SR9 handgun with a black holster, a cell phone, jumper cables and a phone charger.Police say in one of these incidents the suspects forced entry into a trunk.The suspects then fled the scene in an orange Kia Forte four-door vehicle with a temporary Texas license plate of: DRT-5965.Police say these suspects fled from an officer east on Brown Deer Road from 124th Street and south of 91st before the pursuit was terminated.Menomonee Falls police say they received a call from Milwaukee police indicating the suspect vehicle, which had been stolen, was recovered on Tuesday night.The suspects remain at large.
