JACKSON (WITI) -- The Culver's restaurant in Jackson reopened on Monday, October 7th after an attempted robbery and shooting incident there on Sunday.Officials also released additional details on the incident on Monday.Officials say just before 8:30 on Sunday, the manager and an employee were inside the Culver's restaurant preparing for the day when they heard a noise outside the rear door.When a manager opened the door, he was confronted by a man wearing a mask, and armed with a shotgun.The manager then grabbed the shotgun and attempted to disarm the man.During the struggle, the suspect lost control of the shotgun, and produced a knife, and proceeded to stab the manager in the head, according to officials.The suspect and manager continued to fight for control of the shotgun and knife until police arrived.At that time, officials say the suspect gained control of the shotgun and pointed it at officers.Three law enforcement officials fired shots at the suspect.The suspect was taken to Froedtert Hospital via Flight for Life and is in critical condition.The manager was taken to St.

(WITI) -- Two years after the Washington County Sheriff's Office brought a robot onto their team, they are finally able to use it in the field.Washington County Sheriff Dale Schmidt knew what he was looking for back in 2011, when he started looking for a robotic addition to his team."I could count back in history at least 15 times we could have used this, but what we did use is a lot of manpower which cost a lot of money,” said Washington County Sheriff Dale Schmidt. “It's just a need I perceived over time and it seems to be working out now."The official name for the new robot is a mini caliber.
