WASHINGTON COUNTY (WITI) -- Washington County Sheriff's officials say a 27-year-old Milwaukee man is in jail, accused of delivering heroin to an undercover officer with the Washington County Multi-jurisdictional Drug Unit.Sheriff's officials say the drug transaction occurred in Germantown.Following the transaction, the suspect was able to flee the scene -- nearly striking police who were attempting to take him into custody.A brief high-speed pursuit ensued on Highway 41, but that chase was terminated by police.Unmarked squad cars were able to see the suspect vehicle and followed it into a parking lot on W.

WEST BEND (WITI) -- Dozens of West Bend High School students are expected to be charged with disorderly conduct or issued municipal citations for their alleged role in a protest that turned ugly inside the school on Thursday morning, November 20th.On that morning, officers from the West Bend Police Department and deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded and encountered a number of students running through the halls, yelling, and ripping material off of the walls.

88-year-old man found dead after apparently leaving his Town of Barton home on foot

TOWN OF BARTON (WITI) -- Washington County Sheriff's officials say a missing 88-year-old man was found dead near his home.Sheriff's officials were called out to the man's home around 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 11th, where they learned the man had left his home on foot.Given the rural terrain surrounding the man's home, two fire departments and a police department were called in to assist the Washington County Sheriff's officials already on scene.

Several departments called out to grain bin dryer fire in Town of Trenton

TOWN OF TRENTON (WITI) -- Washington County Sheriff's officials say several departments were called out to battle a grain bin dryer fire in the Town of Trenton early Monday morning, November 10th.It happened shortly before 6:00 a.m. at a property on Highway Y.The property owner noticed the fire when he went outside to begin his daily chores and observed flames near the heater fan of the grain bin dryer -- quickly turning off the fan to try to slow the flames.When officials responded to the scene, the flames were extinguished and the electric and propane sources were turned off.

Town of West Bend home severely damaged by fire early Sunday

WEST BEND (WITI) -- Three suspects were arrested during a traffic stop on US 45 near West Bend on Thursday, May 29th for their involvement in heroin deliveries.According to officials, a Washington County Sheriff's Deputy arrested a 20-year-old man and a 41-year-old man from the Kewaskum area and a 24-year-old woman from the City of West Bend.Authorities say the suspects had been the subject of an on-going investigation by the Washington County Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Enforcement Group (Drug Unit).The investigation resulted in sales of heroin to an undercover police officer in the City of West Bend, the Village of Jackson, and the Village of Kewaskum.
