Culver's in Jackson reopens after shooting incident Sunday

JACKSON (WITI) -- The Culver's restaurant in Jackson reopened on Monday, October 7th after an attempted robbery and shooting incident there on Sunday.Officials also released additional details on the incident on Monday.Officials say just before 8:30 on Sunday, the manager and an employee were inside the Culver's restaurant preparing for the day when they heard a noise outside the rear door.When a manager opened the door, he was confronted by a man wearing a mask, and armed with a shotgun.The manager then grabbed the shotgun and attempted to disarm the man.During the struggle, the suspect lost control of the shotgun, and produced a knife, and proceeded to stab the manager in the head, according to officials.The suspect and manager continued to fight for control of the shotgun and knife until police arrived.At that time, officials say the suspect gained control of the shotgun and pointed it at officers.Three law enforcement officials fired shots at the suspect.The suspect was taken to Froedtert Hospital via Flight for Life and is in critical condition.The manager was taken to St.

Man, live-in girlfriend face charges for thefts from vehicles

WASHINGTON COUNTY (WITI) -- A 25-year-old Town of Trenton man and his 24-year-old live-in girlfriend face charges after an investigation revealed the man was stealing items from parked motor vehicles.Washington County Sheriff's officials say these thefts occurred in the Town of Trenton and the City of West Bend.Sheriff's officials say it is alleged that the woman knowingly possessed some of the stolen goods while the man has confessed to several of the thefts.A patrol deputy developed this man as a suspect and observed the suspect driving in Washington County.
