WASHINGTON COUNTY -- Officials with the Washington County Sheriff's Office are investigating after a vehicle ended up in the river early Sunday morning, November 6th.It happened near the intersection of Newark Drive and Lighthouse Lane in the Town of Barton.Sheriff's officials say the vehicle was located unoccupied in the middle of the Milwaukee River.Area residents reported observing a man and woman arguing on the shoreline after the crash.An investigation revealed the vehicle was headed westbound when the operator failed to stop at the stop sign and negotiate a small curve in the roadway before ending up in the river.The investigation is ongoing.
