Walworth County Sheriff's officials: Two dogs found shot, one dead near Wisconsin/Illinois state line

WALWORTH COUNTY (WITI) -- Walworth County Sheriff's officials are seeking information after two dogs were found shot to death near the Wisconsin/Illinois state line in Walworth Township.Sheriff's officials say the incident took place on Monday, October 6th between 10:30 p.m. and 10:45 p.m. They say the dogs were shot by what appears to be a .22 caliber weapon.The dogs involved are described as a Bull Mastiff and a German Shepherd/Rottweiler mix.Sheriff's officials say one of the dogs died.Anyone with information is asked to contact the Walworth County Sheriff's Office and/or Crimestoppers.You can:

Sheriff's officials: Bullmastiff found dead; appears to have suffered eight gunshot wounds

WALWORTH COUNTY (WITI) -- Walworth County Sheriff's officials are investigating after a dog was found dead -- shot eight times.Sheriff's deputies on Sunday afternoon, September 14th responded to the White River Trail parking lot on County Trunk NN in Geneva Township for a report of a deceased dog.At the scene, deputies met with two people who discovered the dog wrapped in a blanket just off the main trail.Sheriff's officials say the dog appears to be a female Bullmastiff, yellow in color with a black face -- weighing approximately 90 pounds.Sheriff's officials say it appears the dog suffered eight gunshot wounds.The dog was scanned for a microchip, and none was found.Sheriff's officials say the dog had all of its teeth, was groomed and its fur was matted down around the neck, giving the impression that the dog once wore a collar.If you have information on this case, or any other case, and would like to remain anonymous, the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office is working with the Walworth County Crime Stoppers and encourages you to share your information by one of the following methods:

Sheriff's officials: Body located in Kishwauketoe Nature Conservancy, family of missing man notified

WALWORTH COUNTY (WITI) -- Walworth County Sheriff's officials say a body has been discovered in the Kishwauketoe Nature Conservancy -- and the family of a missing man has been notified.The body was discovered around noon on Thursday, September 11th.Walworth County Sheriff's officials say the body is that of a male -- but the body's identity hasn't yet been determined.Sheriff's officials say the body was discovered by volunteers, looking for Brian Bates -- the Williams Bay man missing since August 24th.

Sheriff's officials: Boy shot in the head in Town of Sharon in rural Walworth County

TOWN OF SHARON (WITI) -- Walworth County Sheriff's officials were on the scene of a shooting involving two juvenile males that happened in the Town of Sharon around 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9th.It all started with a 911 call to police.The shooting incident happened in a wooded area behind a home.Sheriff's officials say one of the juveniles is in the hospital with a gunshot wound to the head.

Head-on crash turns fatal: 59-year-old Beloit man dies Sunday after crash on June 9th

WALWORTH COUNTY (WITI) -- Walworth County Sheriff's officials say a 59-year-old man has died following a two-vehicle head-on crash that occurred on June 9th.The crash occurred just before 12:15 p.m. on June 9th, on Highway 14, just south of County Highway C in the Town of Darien.An initial investigation revealed the driver of a 2008 Chevy Aveo was headed eastbound on Highway 14, when the vehicle's 63-year-old driver (of Wonder Lake, Illinois) crossed the center line and struck a 1994 Cadillac Deville operated by 59-year-old Printess Pritchard of Beloit.The two vehicles met head-on in the westbound lane of traffic.Pritchard was taken to a Madison-area hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries just after 9:30 a.m. Sunday, June 22nd.The 63-year-old driver also sustained injuries as a result of the crash, but they are not believed to be life-threatening.Officials say both men we wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.Walworth County Sheriff's officials say their investigation into this crash is ongoing.

Overpass bridge must be inspected after it is struck by over-sized load

WALWORTH COUNTY (WITI) -- Walworth County Sheriff's officials say an overpass bridge must be inspected following an incident involving a semi-trailer and an over-sized load that occurred on Monday evening, March 31st.It happened on Highway 12 and I-43.Sheriff's officials say the semi-trailer was caught underneath the I-43 overpass bridge after the operator was trying to pull a hollow tube through.The semi-trailer's operator struck the bridge with the tube -- but was able to back the semi-trailer and the tube out from under the overpass bridge.The bridge appears to have sustained little to no damage -- but an inspector is being called out to check the bridge's condition.Traffic on I-43 was not disrupted by this incident.The off-ramp from I-43 to Highway 12 was closed for just a few minutes.Highway 12 was unaffected.

40-year-old Lake Geneva man arrested following pursuit

WALWORTH COUNTY (WITI) -- Walworth County Sheriff's officials say a 40-year-old Lake Geneva man was arrested on Sunday, March 30th following a pursuit.According to Walworth County Sheriff's officials, at approximately 3:23 p.m. Geneva Township PD and Walworth County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a report of a domestic violence incident allegedly involving the 40-year-old suspect.The suspect was reported to be intoxicated and left the scene in a vehicle.At approximately 3:39 p.m., officers spotted this vehicle in the city of Lake Geneva.

Illinois man could face charges in fatal Walworth Co. crash

WALWORTH COUNTY (WITI) -- Walworth County Sheriff's officials say a Woodstock, Illinois man was arrested following a fatal crash in the Town of Walworth on Saturday, June 15th.Officials say the crash occurred just before 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, and involved a Jeep and a tree.The crash occurred on Cobblestone Road west of the Linn-Walworth Town Line Road in the Town of Walworth.Officials say a Jeep was traveling westbound on Cobblestone Road when it left the road and struck a tree.There were four passengers in the vehicle when this crash occurred.
