Racine man arrested for this EIGHTEENTH operating after revocation offense!

CALEDONIA (WITI) -- Caledonia police say they have arrested a 25-year-old man -- for his EIGHTEENTH operating after revocation offense!25-year-old Sean McCloskey was arrested just before 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23rd for operating after revocation.Police were dispatched to the area of Industrial Drive and Nicholson Road for a suspicious vehicle complaint.The arresting officer observed McCloskey's vehicle in the area of the complaint -- and upon running the registration of the vehicle -- it was determined the plate was expired.A traffic stop was conducted in the 5300 block of Four Mile Road.A driver's record showed McCloskey's driving status to be revoked, with his offense being his 18th.He was cited for displaying unauthorized plates.He was released -- pending a mandatory court appearance.

Racine house fire: 48-year-old man injured after fire broke out in kitchen

RACINE (WITI) -- A 48-year-old man was injured after a broke out in his home early Thursday morning, July 17th.The fire broke out just before 1 a.m. in a home on Glendale Avenue near Drexel Avenue.According to officials, the 48-year-old man was sleeping in the living room when he woke to smoke and flames in the kitchen.Authorities say he was able to self-evacuate, but did sustain injuries while leaving the home.He was transported to Wheaton Franciscan -- All Saints for treatment by the Racine Fire Department.Authorities say there were two dogs and two cats in the home at the time of the fire.

RACINE (WITI) -- After just officially announcing the birth of two lion cubs on Monday, Azizi, the Zoo’s female lion, gave birth to a third cub about five hours after its siblings.The announcement of the third cub was delayed until Zoo staff felt more comfortable about its condition.

Fire erupts from van parked near garage in Racine; Garage, van and another vehicle damaged

RACINE (WITI) -- Fire officials in Racine on Sunday, June 29th responded to a garage fire at a home in the 1400 block of Arthur Avenue.It happened just after 3:30 p.m.Fire officials say a fire erupted from a van about five to 10 minutes after it was parked by a garage.The garage's overhead door was open, allowing the fire to spread to the garage and to another vehicle inside.Both cars and the garage were heavily damaged.Fire officials estimate the loss in this fire to be around $30,000.No one was injured.The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Street value of $48,0000: A dozen pounds of high-grade marijuana seized in Racine

RACINE (WITI) -- Racine County Sheriff's officials on Wednesday, June 25th seized 12 pounds of high-grade marijuana with a street value of $48,000 -- and arrested a 31-year-old man.Around 3:10 p.m. Wednesday, Agents of the Racine County Metro Drug Unit, working in cooperation with the United States Postal Inspectors executed a search warrant at a home in the 1200 block of Orchard Street in Racine.Along with the marijuana, officials were able to seize an assault-style rifle, a 9mm semi-automatic handgun and ammunition.

RACINE COUNTY (WITI) -- Road conditions were bad enough this weekend, with the rain and the fog -- and in Racine County, officials were dealing with a herd of goats!County Road G in Racine County is a busy stretch of road, so there was some real urgency to get the herd of goats under control on Friday, June 20th.In fact, the Racine County Sheriff's Department was called, so officials were aware of what was going on, but when it comes down to it, this was a case of neighbors helping neighbors.There were no warning signs on Friday night to prepare drivers for the obstacle ahead."It would do some serious damage to a car," a neighbor named Sue told FOX6 News.Somebody could have gotten hurt because you couldn't see anything on the road," Nancy Schingeck said.But Nancy Schingeck knew what to do when she got the call."Just had to go over there," Schingeck said.And thus began the "great goat escapade" of 2014.A herd of goats was on the loose!

Arrested: 25-year-old Racine man found inside vehicle with drug paraphernalia, a knife

MOUNT PLEASANT (WITI) -- Mount Pleasant police on Friday night, June 20th took a 25-year-old Racine man into custody after finding him in possession of drug paraphernalia inside a vehicle.Police were called out to the dead end of East Red Pine Circle around 7:45 p.m. Friday for a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in front of an empty lot.When police arrived, they found the vehicle occupied by a 25-year-old Racine man, who appeared to be going in and out of consciousness.Officers made repeated attempts and were eventually able to gain the man's attention.Police say the man opened his hands, and revealed a syringe and drug paraphernalia -- consistent with heroin use.Police say the man was also in possession of an eight-inch knife.The man was taken to the hospital for treatment -- and was then taken to the Racine County Jail -- where he is being held on several charges -- including possession of heroin as a repeat offender, possession of drug paraphernalia, carrying a concealed weapon, probation/parole hold and OWI -- second offense.

BUSTED: Racine bank robbery suspects apprehended in about 30 minutes

RACINE (WITI) -- Racine police on Tuesday afternoon, June 17th, were able to arrest two bank robbery suspects.Arrested are a 49-year-old man and a 33-year-old man from Racine.Just after 1:30 p.m., police responded to the BMO Harris Bank on Durand Avenue.Responding officers were advised that a suspect fled on foot, and may have been picked up by a red vehicle leaving northbound from the area.While en route to the robbery, an officer observed a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle traveling northbound on Ohio Street from the area.The officer followed the vehicle while cover officers arrived.A vehicle stop was initiated in the 4400 block of 17th Street.Police say the 49-year-old suspect fled from the vehicle into yards in the area.A perimeter was established to ensure the suspect did not escape.Assistance was requested from the Racine County Sheriff's Office's K-9 unit, who was on duty.Officers began to organize a yard-by-yard search for the suspect.The 49-year-old suspect was located in a yard in the 4400 block of Victory Avenue, with the assistance of the K-9 officer.The 33-year-old suspect, whom police believe was driving the vehicle, was also taken into custody.The suspects were taken to the Racine Police Department on charges of robbery of a financial institution and obstructing and parole violation.Racine police say: "This incident was a tremendous collaborative effort by area law enforcement including the Racine Police Department, Racine County Sheriff’s Department and the Mount Pleasant PoliceDepartment.
