MOUNT PLEASANT -- An 87-year-old woman tried to chase down a suspect who snatched her purse in the parking lot of a Pick 'N Save in Mount Pleasant.It happened shortly after 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 16th at the Pick 'N Save on South Green Bay Road near Durand Avenue.According to Mount Pleasant police, the elderly woman made a purchase inside the store and as she was walking to her car, a suspect -- who witnesses described as a black male wearing dark clothing -- came up and forcefully grabbed her purse.The man ran and got into a red, mid-sized SUV (possibly a GMC Acadia) that was also parked in the lot.

48-year-old Racine man arrested for 8th OWI after running red light

MOUNT PLEASANT -- A 48-year-old man from Racine was arrested Sunday night, Feb. 11 for OWI, 8th offense during a traffic stop.According to police, officers conducted a traffic stop around 11:20 p.m. at STH 20 (Washington Ave.) and Oakes Road for a vehicle that ran through a red light.During the traffic stop, it was determined that the driver was impaired and officers attempted to conduct standardized field sobriety tests -- but he refused.

Woman accused of stealing Salvation Army Red Kettle from Walgreens pleads guilty

CALEDONIA -- One of two people accused of stealing a Salvation Army Red Kettle from a Caledonia Walgreens store "to support their heroin habit" has pleaded guilty.Alicia Wojtowicz, 34, on Tuesday, Feb. 6 pleaded guilty to theft of movable property, less than $2,500 as party to a crime.
