1 dead following 2-vehicle crash in Kenosha County

KENOSHA COUNTY -- One person has died following a two-vehicle crash in Kenosha County on Sunday, October 8th.It happened around 7:15 a.m. intersection of Highway KR (1st Street), and Highway H (88th Avenue).An investigation revealed that an eastbound 2003 GMC Yukon traveling on Highway KR failed to stop for the posted stop sign and struck a 2007 Ford Focus -- which was traveling north on Highway H.The operator of the Ford Focus died at the scene due to the severity of injuries.Investigation is still ongoing.Identification of those involved is being withheld at this time pending family notification.

KENOSHA COUNTY -- Kenosha County officials say a 24-year-old man jumped off I-94 while fleeing a deputy attempting to make a traffic stop, and fell approximately 25 feet to the roadway below.The incident happened Tuesday evening, August 29th around 8:45 p.m.According to the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department, a deputy attempted to stop a 2004 Nissan that was traveling southbound on I-94 for an illegal temporary registration.

Man in critical condition after being struck by train in Kenosha County

KENOSHA COUNTY -- A man was taken to the hospital by Flight for Life early Tuesday morning, August 22nd after he was struck by a train in Kenosha County.Deputies say it happened just after midnight near 258th Court and  Wilmot Road in Trevor.According to the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department, the investigation revealed that an 18-year-old man was on the tracks with intent to video the moving train with his cell phone when he was struck.Reportedly, the conductor of the Canadian National train saw the man and began to slow it down  -- to approximately 35 miles per hour.

Burglars target Kenosha technology stores but get caught

KENOSHA — Police say burglars stole about $33,000 worth of cellphones and tablet computers from a store in Kenosha before getting caught.Authorities say three people smashed through a glass door at McTernan Wireless shortly before 2:30 a.m. Monday and made off with the merchandise.Police say the same three suspects then tried the same thing at an AT&T store but failed to get in.The suspects were stopped and arrested in Pleasant Prairie a short time later.

KENOSHA -- The Kenosha Unified School District announced on Thursday, July 27th that it will have counselors on hand for students who may need additional support in the wake of 17-year-old Olivia Mackay's death.A Facebook post (below) indicates the counselors will be available from 7:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 27th and Friday, July 28th at Indian Trail High School and Academy.Mackay's body was found along Louis Sorenson Road in the Village of Mount Pleasant on Monday, July 24th.
