MILWAUKEE — Five adults and seven children were evacuated from a house fire near 20th and Burleigh Saturday, Nov. 30.The Milwaukee Fire Department recieved a report of the fire around 6:30 a.m. Upon arrival, crews found a heavy fire coming out of the attic.“We assisted five adults and seven children from the building, and made our way to the attic,” said Battalion Chief Dan Lipski. “We found near hoarder conditions up there with heavy fire load.”Lipski said there was “so much stuff” in the attic because someone was living there.Crews were able to extinguish the fire, but the fire caused extensive damage to the building.

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Fire Department fire station near 27th Street and Capitol Drive was evacuated Monday night, Nov. 18 due to a suspicious bag.It happened around 8 p.m.An investigation was underway to determine the contents of the bag.Police, paramedics, firefighters, and MFD and MPD's hazardous materials units saturated the area.Authorities were quick to evacuate firefighters from Station 36 and also, a handful of people from nearby businesses, including McDonald's, out of an abundance of caution.A FOX6 News crew on scene said things were beginning to clear around 10:30 p.m.In an update on Monday, Nov. 25, police said an investigation revealed the bag did not contain any hazardous devices and said they had not yet identified who the bag belonged to.
