GREEN BAY -- Green Bay Packers Head Coach Mike McCarthy and the Packers organization announced Thursday, September 8th they have partnered to each make a $100,000 donation to the Green Bay Police Foundation.According to a statement from the Packers, the donations are matching grants, requiring the Green Bay Police Foundation to raise an additional $200,000 in order to secure the donations from McCarthy and the Packers Corporation.The Green Bay Police Foundation, founded in June of this year, is a non-profit organization that promotes excellence in area police departments and helps to improve public safety and partnerships in the community.The donations from McCarthy and the Packers will be directed to support the Foundation’s efforts to build and enhance relationships between the police and the community, according to the Packers.“I’m excited to support the Green Bay Police Foundation and its work to help all the Green Bay communities build those relationships,” McCarthy said. “It’s important so our children can grow, they can invest, and they can project a healthier and safer community.
