Waukesha County man wins $1M from scratch ticket bought at Woodman's

WAUKESHA COUNTY -- A Waukesha County man has become a millionaire after winning a Royal Millions scratch ticket.According to a news release, Ronald Alvarez of Dousman  purchased the ticket at Woodman's Food Market located in Sun Prairie, and redeemed the scratch ticket worth $1 million!After taxes, Alvarez will be taking home more than $673,000.Retailers who sell winning tickets over $599 receive an incentive of 2% of the winning ticket amount up to $100,000.There are total of three $1 million grand prizes in the Royal Millions scratch game -- one $1 million grand prize is still available.In addition to the three grand prizes, players can win anywhere from $30 to $50,000.

Waukesha hires lead contractor for $206M Lake Michigan water project

WAUKESHA -- Waukesha has hired a primary contractor for its $206 million project to access water in Lake Michigan.Chicago engineering firm "Greeley & Hansen" will led the way on the project, which is expected to take five years to complete.The plan is to build pipelines to connect Waukesha to Oak Creek's water pipes, and a return system into the Root River which will carry the water back into Lake Michigan.CLICK HERE for more on this story via the Milwaukee Business Journal.

Waukesha police make arrest in armed robbery of PDQ gas station

WAUKESHA -- Waukesha Police Department have arrested the suspect responsible for the armed robbery at a PDQ gas station.The investigation led the Waukesha Police Department to a Town of Waukesha residence where the suspect was taken into custody on September 29th with the assistance of the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department and U.S. Marshals.Throughout this investigation, the Waukesha Police Department received many tips from the community regarding the suspect truck.

New Berlin police seek suspect after gas station robbed of cash, cigarettes at gunpoint

NEW BERLIN -- New Berlin police are seeking a suspect after a gas station at 124th and Cleveland was robbed at gunpoint on Sunday afternoon, September 18th.It happened around 3:30 p.m.Police say a lone male suspect obtained an undetermined amount of cash and cigarettes -- and fled the gas station prior to the arrival of police.The suspect vehicle is described as an older Chevy Cavalier, possibly blue in color, with faded headlights and faded paint.Police don't have a license plate number.No one was hurt in this armed robbery.Police are investigating.
