RACINE -- A one-year-old child was taken to the hospital for treatment after being bitten by a dog on Jerome Boulevard near Taylor Avenue in Racine on Thursday evening, June 2nd.The incident occurred around 7:00 p.m.When officials arrived on scene they were met by the child's grandfather, who stated that the family dog, a 6-year-old American Bulldog Boxer, had bit the one-year-old in the face and head while the child was playing on the floor.The grandfather told police he had to pry the family dog off of the child's head.The child received severe trauma to his head.According to the Racine Fire Department, the child was transported to All Saints Hospital in Racine, then airlifted via Flight for Life to Children's Hospital.
