WEST ALLIS -- Two people were seriously hurt in a collision between a car and pickup truck in West Allis on Wednesday, Aug. 22The wreck happened at 60th and Pierce around 8:30 a.m. Officials say the initial investigation indicates the driver of the pickup truck, a 46-year-old Pewaukee man, was traveling southbound on 60th St.

MILWAUKEE -- A man accused of leading police on a wild pursuit in the middle of the night has reached a plea deal in the case against him.Ayex Lopez, 18, of Milwaukee on Tuesday, Aug. 14 pleaded guilty to two charges: operator flee/elude officer -- bodily harm or property damage and first degree recklessly endangering safety.Lopez will be sentenced on Oct. 16.Prosecutors say they found beer in the stolen vehicle allegedly driven by Lopez, and at one point, an officer had to run for his life to avoid being struck.

WEST ALLIS -- The state on Tuesday, Aug. 7 requested more time to secure their own "not guilty by reason of insanity" expert in the case involving a woman who stands accused of shooting the owner of M&M Motors in the back of the head in West Allis.It happened on March 10, 2018 at the dealership near 100th and Greenfield.The accused is Melissa Sandrone, 45, of Milwaukee, who was in court Tuesday for a doctor's report hearing.
