'Tried to take my life:' Kenosha woman who ran over friend after fight pleads guilty

KENOSHA COUNTY -- A Kenosha woman who ran over her friend with a vehicle  after a fight has been convicted.Nieama Hunter, 24, pleaded guilty to two charges filed in separate cases on Thursday, Sept. 20.She pleaded guilty to one count of second degree reckless injury in a case filed in January, and misdemeanor disorderly conduct, domestic abuse, repeater in a case filed in November.

KENOSHA -- Kenosha officials are asking for the public's help to identify two people in connection to a Walmart theft.The Kenosha County Sheriff's Department shared surveillance photos of those in question on Wednesday, Sept. 12.The photos appear to show two men leaving the store -- located at 3500 Brumback Boulevard -- carrying a large boxed item.Both appear to be wearing baseball hats.

KENOSHA -- The Kenosha Police Department is notifying neighbors of the release of a registered sex offender. 55-year-old Roger Parrish was released on Sept. 4 and is residing within a one mile radius of 60th Street and 122nd Avenue.Roger Parrish has prior acts of sexual assault involving a juvenile.

140 grams of fentanyl, heroin recovered, 4 arrested in months-long drug investigation in Kenosha

KENOSHA -- Four men were arrested and approximately 140 grams worth of fentanyl and heroin were recovered when Kenosha County sheriff's deputies executed a "no knock" search warrant at a suspected drug house near 45th Street and 30th Avenue in Kenosha.Members of the "Kenosha Drug Operations Group" on Tuesday, Sept. 4 around 11:30 a.m. were conducting surveillance on the home amid an active, months-long investigation into three people living there, who were suspected of selling illegal narcotics out of the home and in the area.

KENOSHA -- Kenosha authorities released information on Monday, Sept. 3 regarding a motorcycle crash that killed two people on Saturday.The Kenosha County Sheriff's Department along with Village of Somers and City of Kenosha Fire and Rescue responded around 6:40 p.m. on Saturday to the intersection of Highway H (88th Avenue) and Highway S (38th Street) for an injury vehicle crash involving a motorcycle.Investigators determined a motorcycle was traveling north on Highway H with two occupants.

KUSD: 11-year-old sexually assaulted near elementary school in Kenosha

KENOSHA -- An 11-year-old girl was sexually assaulted outside an elementary school Wednesday, Aug. 29.Kenosha Unified School District officials said it happened around 7:30 p.m. near Curtis Strange School.According to KUSD, the girl was walking in the area and when she reached the dark parking lot area at the school, the suspect approached her from behind, asked her how old she was, and told her she was beautiful.He then grabbed her backside, causing her to fall to the ground, where she proceeded to kick the suspect and scream for help.The suspect causally walked away.KUSD officials described the suspect as follows: male, black, between the ages of 18 and 25, standing approximately 5'9" tall, wearing a blue jean jacket, blue jeans, blue hat, a dark green or black shirt and a gold necklace.If you have any information about this suspect, please call police.

Life in prison for Daniel Tate, convicted of strangling 17-year-old girl he met online, dumping her body

KENOSHA COUNTY -- A Kenosha man has been sentenced to life in prison in connection with the death of Olivia Mackay, 17, of Kenosha.Daniel Tate, 20, of Kenosha was found guilty by a jury in June -- convicted on three counts: first degree intentional homicide, as party to a crime, hiding a corpse, as party to a crime and take and drive vehicle without consent, as party to a crime.In court on Monday, Aug. 20, Tate was sentenced to serve life in prison on the homicide conviction, seven-and-a-half years in prison and five years extended supervision on the hiding a corpse conviction and three years in prison and three years extended supervision on the vehicle conviction -- to be served consecutively, with credit for 383 days time served.His co-defendant, Jamari Cook, 18, of Kenosha in July pleaded guilty to two charges: hiding a corpse, as party to a crime, and take and drive vehicle without consent, as party to a crime.He will be sentenced on Sept. 17.
